Here is my adventure with trying to get this Mod to work. After reading the posts, I followed the instructions of previous posters. I installed a fresh copy of UT 2004. I downloaded and installed the 3369.2 patch. I downloaded the version 2 Ballistic Weapons mod, Zip version. I right clicked on the UT 2004 icon in the game's folder and selected Open Package Contents. I copied then pasted the files from the Ballistics Mod to the appropriate folders, (system files to system folder, sounds to sound folder etc.)

I then started up the game and selected Instant Action- Team Death Match and then Mutators. It did not appear on the Mutators list. I then went to Community and then Mods.... nothing. I then tried Host Game.... nothing. What am I doing wrong??

if that dosnt work just install a different mod to check if theres not a problem with ut2004 its self

P.S dont tell the moderators ive been talking about different mods they'll execute me for such treason!! :shifty:

Downloaded version 2.1, copy and pasted the files to the appropriate folders and still nothing. There has to be something simple that I am just missing. Having the files in the proper folders should make it work. If there is a problem with UT itself, then my journey ends here because Epic has NEVER given any support. They say it is Macsoft's fault because they did the port and Macsoft says it is Epic's fault. Everyone keeps pointing the finger at someone else.
I tried the Lawdogs Mod and although that did work, there were no gun sounds during play. The Modders had no clue as to why that was happening.
When I installed UT 2004 and then went to install the 3369.2 patch, the patch said that I was already patched up and no update was installed. Apparently the Mac version already installs the latest patch?

Because Apple do the same mistake as AMD; they do not give good support for development on their own platform. Why do you think the vast majority of games are specially optimized for nVidia video cards? Because AMD are self-centered fools, they are not easily approachable and neither willing to work closely with developers.

Wrong. Mac OSX are glory in America, the European and Asian Market use through 80% MS Win.
Apple Products, not very known here, no publicity from Apple for Aplle Products and Apple is to expansive.
The Market for Windows is Bigger, develpoment for other system, Linux or OSX should cost Money.
Money that never get Back Through the Publishers.

Source ? Otherwise -> Fairytale.
Or do ya mean the "Its meant to be Played" Campagne of NV ? -> Subsidies
Yeah best in Game Advertisement for NV. Not more.
Optimzed means 1 frame more rendered at the second, or one "totally incredible masterful" shader effect more ?

Sry, but totally Crap what you have written, imho.
NV is not closer through Developpers as AMD.

_____
Stop bashing, think objective.
Games run with AMD Cards and also run with NV Cards.
The performance differences between competing Cards are practically not there for normal customers like you and me.
Or do ya have played a casual Game which want able to run on AMD or NV Cards for the last 10 years ?
The most casual Games are builded on llicensed Engine-Frameworks which run with every Card in near the same perfromance.

Sry for the bad english >_<

That entire post can be replied to with these two words:

And by the way, at least quote the right person when you want to make big counter-arguments without citing any sources to prove my statements wrong.

Okay, Mac and Windows wars aside, I found out that the problem is the Mod. When I try to run just UT2004 by itself ( just a regular "vanilla" game) the screen is sliced into three sections of flickering colors. I hear the bots running around fighting each other, but all I see is flickering colors and distortion. This has only happened after installing Ballistic weapons.

The bottom line is, not to slam the coders of this Mod, when I had the original Unreal Tournament I had many mods on it; Badlands, Marathon Resurrection etc. Those mods had Mac programers who worked along side the PC guys to make their mods work on both systems. I'm finding very few mods for this version of UT that are Mac compatible. I'm going to have to agree with others in saying that it is not compatible and just keep searching for one that is, unless the programers of this mod want to chime in with some help and show that I am wrong.

Unfortunately the programmer of BW does not have access to a Mac computer. To this day our "Mac person" has been James, he tested the mod for Mac problems during course of development.
