Hello

first....nice job, we love BW2.5 - thx for that.

Is 2.5 working well on Servers? We setup a complete new and fresh installation - and just install BW2.5.
For some games it work well - but it crash.
Some ideas?

what kind of server you started? DM, VTCF, ONS?

UObject::GetPathName crashes are also known as the round change crash. They are caused by a map with improperly configured emitters. DC-Canal, DC-Beach, SB-Depot, SB-Guardian and BE-Octane are all confirmed to have a chance to crash Linux servers when they're switched away from, and a lot of third party maps (but no stock maps) suffer from this issue as well. This is the reason I do not make emitters for maps, instead electing to copy stock ones. What map was being switched from?

We start DM Server on Linux.
The Map was changing from DM-BP2-GoopGod to DM-1on1-Irondust

I have only install the UT2004 standard and megapatch. Linux Patch up to 3369-2.
No other Maps than Megapack and BW2.5

GoopGod is a known crash map. The only way you can use these maps on your server is to make a version with Unreal Editor which has all Emitters, xEmitters, pclsmokeeffect and any other form of particle emitter deleted.

oh, that not so good.

how can i check maps, before put it on a server?
You say, is a known crash Map - is there a list or something like that?

whats with the BW maps from the 2.5 Pack - are they all working online?

It's only possible to check whether a map will crash by running it on a server, I'm afraid. I had a server configured locally which restarted within 2 minutes, for the purpose of checking maps for the crash bug.

There is no list, but I have a fair bit of experience with maps that crash and I may simply be able to post the fixed versions.

My previous post already identified the broken maps from the pack. I did post about this, but I was simply told that server admins would have to fix the issues themselves.

ok..... now i delete all this maps from the server.
let´s have a look, how long it works now.

One of our admins may have found an absolute fix for this lame bug. Stay tuned, preliminary testing suggests it works.

Now it looks like this is working. Thanks for this.
- but i delete all the Maps from the BW2,5 Pack.

I can test this "fix" on our Server - i thinks, this could be helpfull.

No problem. Once we've confirmed that the fix works we will release it.
