Post subject:  BW Conflict: long loading times

Hey there, I have a question about Ballictic Conflict.
When I play it, the loading times for the next round are pretty long. Is this due to me using some of Sgt. Kelly's and F&JC weapons? If it is my fault, what can I do to fix it? Or is this caused by strange programming and it is not my fault? :P

Help would be appreciated, those long waiting times make the games get boring rather quick.

Running a hundred weapons, some of which have 2048x2048 skins with pointless offline only camo ramping up filesize and asset load, and most of which have dramatic role overlap with other weapons is naturally going to destroy a weak PC for little gain on your part.

If the bots switch weapons every round (hardly anyone here plays the mulitplayer game of the year online in the age of broadband so it's a safe bet tbh) then assets are going to be loaded every round because you're using 100 weapons instead of 12 in default 2k4

Your choices are simple: don't play with bots, remove weapons or deal with the lag.

I am not using 100 weapons, just around 20 maybe.
I don't really have a weak PC, it's pretty good actually. (Running UT2004 on highest settings with ballistic blood, scorch marks and shell casings set to stay forever and no lag)

Wouldn't it be a better choice to be able to preload all the available weapons before the start of the game?

If you're running 20 weapons and you don't have a weak PC it's not Ballistic that's the problem.

Conflict lag has been around forever, unfortunately. I suspect it has to do with the bots choosing their weapons. While it's not caused by the new weapon packs, they certainly do not make the issue any better. Sometimes I'll have to wait around a minute for a new round to start and for the bots to select their guns.

I would recommend playing around with Scorpion_SK's team loadout mutator. His mutator lets you limit the weapons the bots (or you) can choose from. I'm not sure if it's compatible with Conflict though.

Ah, thanks. :) Will try it out for sure.
One of the reasons I play conflict is the possbility to make the teams use different weapons so the team loadout does sound nice.
