Post subject:  BW Mod associates with only one announcer voice pack

I was wondering if anybody else has encountered this strange problem with the BW Mod. Last week I found some new announcer voice packs I wanted to use and I added them to the game. I booted up UT2004 after I dropped the files in their place and went to the settings to change the voice around to one of the new ones I downloaded.

Then I fired up the BW Mod Deathmatch and started a game. The voice of the announcer was still set to the voice I was using before (in my case it was the TF2 Announcer). So I went looking through the BW settings to see if there was anything I may have missed. No dice there. Later just to see something I played a vanilla DeathMatch with no mods and the new voice I picked in the settings came on. And I discovered it does come up as long as I don’t play any BW infused games.

So a few days ago I did a full reset of my computer I wanted to do it anyways since I never did it when I got the system 2 years ago and Classic UT was inoperable because of a screw up on my end and I thought UT2004 was getting a bit weird as well. After I got everything reset and most of my mods I have saved from UT2004 loaded in (getting the BW stuff reinstalled was the first priority for me) I started the game and changed a voicepack to a custom one and played a match then after I played another match with the Classic UT announcer that came with the game and the voice was stuck again to the custom one I picked for the first match.

I was wondering did I stumble on a coding glitch or is this something I got to go in to Windows Explorer to fix by changing/deleting a few files? I even before the reset I removed the voice pack BW seemingly associated its self with to see if that would fix the problem and all I just did was kill the announcer voice off bar none.

People have reported similar problems as this before, and I am not sure if a fix was found. I think maybe someone might have messed with the BallisticV25.ini file.

I did a quick search for Announcer in the file and a couple results popped up, maybe you want to change that around to see if there is any change?

Heh I think I fixed strangely enough by doing the extreme option of uninstalling the game running CCleaner after the game was gone to remove all traces of it and reinstalling the game after and I played about 3 different short matches and changing the announcer voice and it changed everytime now. :)

Yeah, stuck settings can be fixed by deleting or modifying the ballistic ini file.
