Hey,

It is very very impressive what you can do with Unreal Tournament. The characters in particular are on a different level than any other mods or available tutorials. I made search for use of cloth and other physics based materials in character models and there seems to be nothing out there.
Can you explain how was the Crusader made?

Does it have whole custom made animations or you reused original skeletons/animations?
Is it possible to add extra bones for cloth to standard skeletons without braking their animations?
Maybe you know how to extract existing animations/skeletons from UT3?

With so much amazing content you could write/record the most advanced character tutorial for UT3. As far as I have seen noone knows how to use physics driven bones.
I am especially interested in possibilities to make realistic trench coat for a character.

Cloth is actually quite simple. I'll give you a quick run-down:

You need firstly to download UT3's character skeletons (from UDN). You rig your char to that skeleton. You can add any additional bones like for cloth. To get cloth to work, you need a custom physics asset and need to set the bones to be a "cloth bone". You could of course name the bones the same as one of their char skeletons and use that family.

A tutorial is an interesting idea though, we'll think on that one :)
