Not working for me. Hate to have to delete all my files, don't think I could find all the extra content that I added to UT3 and Crucible.

I have spent all day figuring out how to remove the Crucible since it makes Unreal Tournament 3 unplayable. Many people have reinstalled Unreal Tournament 3 and lost their data because they did not know how to safely uninstall the Crucible. I am here today give give thorough instructions on how I did it. It is a lengthy process, but it is worth it. Let's begin: Step 1: Delete CxGame from C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3 Step 2: Delete the RuneStorm folder from C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\ (this will delete all Runestorm mods and weapon packs. it is a small price to pay) Step 3: You must modify the UTCustomChar.ini file that is in the C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config folder. Open the file in NotePad and keep scrolling down until you get to Crucible characters. Select them all and delete them. Be careful, only delete Crucible characters. I cannot post screenshots since I already did it. If you need help, just PM me your UTCustomChar.ini content and I will do it for you. Step 4: Play Unreal Tournament 3! |

Thanks, worked for me. Let me add that you can just delete the UTCustomChar.ini file though. The game will recreate it the next time you play. Much easier than deleting all of the RuneStorm characters from it. Thanks again! |

I vaguely recall being able to launch one or the other independently. I'll look into it if I have the time. |
