I have various questions about the UT3 mod; 1. Considering you're making it a stand-alone game, I can see you do not need anything to make it work, probably just a strong computer. But, do you have to pay for the game? Or it will be freeware? 2. I noticed there are "two" Crucibles. Okay, the beta 1.0 (Which apparently doesn't say it's beta, but the download does) and a 1.1 one (which I think it's a TC of UT3) on ModDB, I am not exactly too sure which to download. I guess it's the 1.0b one, considering it's on the official webpage. 3. And, I wanted to try the Thor gun and thought I'd get it on RuneStorm, but even if I had the best perception in the world I don't see it. Can you kindly put it in your Crucible Download section? I am myself not sure if it's on ModDB or anywhere. Happy cold-from-your-hands-to-your-arms day. |

Hey. Sorry i missed this.. 1:) If(when) we make it a standalone game, it will almost certainly be a commercial game you have to pay for. Gotta survive somehow 2:) v1.0 is a collection of gametypes, weapons, characters and a map. It is NOT a TC. v1.1 IS a TC. I recommend waiting for the upcoming v1.2 which is NOT a TC, and has more options, is more stable, and obviously is best of all because it can run with stock content and other mods 3:) The Lightning gun will be in v1.2. It's also on ModDb. But i will add it to the site soon. |

Thanks for the response. I have another question if you don't mind. So, after you said that there is a chance you might make a standalone game of this, you'll still have an official 1.2 and updated, right? Like Ballistic Weapons. |

Not an intelligent question. If a team is putting their time into making something and they are good enough to have a commercial release, there is absolutely no reason why they should release (or update) a completely free (as per Epic's EULA) parallel version of that exact same release. They deserve to be paid for their work. |

Ah, well there won't be a free release as well if the Crucible is made standalone and sold, the only free things you will get are what we have already, the various versions and content you have mentioned, including the soon to be released V1.2... After that, we cannot say... |

We're not exactly going to port the mod to UDK then release it.... It will pretty much be nothing like it is now. It will go through a fundamental redesign. When the Crucible is at a point where it is viable, we will let people know what the primary features are |

Indeed, rest assured, it won't be tiny, lean product, as it is now, its currently nothing compared to how it WILL be when it reaches it's final stages, whenever that may be.. |

Everyone plays it because there is no more sandbox games except Minecraft, which I honestly disliked. I don't think Runestorm, if they ever had time to make Crucible standalone, would just repack the whole Crucible 1.2 with UT3 on it. That would be worthless to pay for a game as it's simply UT3 integrated with Crucible 1.2, a game with a mod or a mod with a game. |
