Post subject:  Goldeneye Mines

I've been wanting to make some different mines to add for BW, and I think the mine from Goldeneye works well as an easy model. Justice was hopefully done correctly, and now I need to just get this little thing UV mapped, textured, and coded so it will work. Oh, and animations... those help.

This is the base mine model for any of the 3 Goldeneye mines (Remote, Proxy, and Timed). BTW, I did use the smooth tool to help get this with some more detail on it (most of it was my own hard edges though).

Looks like a mushroom to me. :) But really do you like mines? I find mines to be the most bor- *clears throat* least fun weapons in games. Really. (o,o)

Mines are really fun if you know how to mine a place. If you know what you are doing, then mines are super deadly. Forinstance, you can set a few Remote Mines that can be triggered by a Proxy mine in visible space to kill someone unsuspecting the main trap.

What I mean is to set an easy to spot Proxy mine, and then have more hidden Remotes around the place to be triggered by the Proxy, and they will reach to where the other person might shoot the Proxy. Oo, and Timed mines can be hell to deal with. If you need to just run and toss, they can be good traps as you escape. What can be more fun than to have an enemy fall into your trap and die in an explosion of HUGE results?

Though I think the model would look nicer if it had the sharper edges. Here's a picture of a modern reincarnation of the bomb.

Ooh, nice. GE Source? I can try to keep modding the mines. This is the v6 version, just to see how they would appear like they just had updated polys for 2004. I'll see about making them more.... modern.
