ZR380 Recurve Bow Manufacturer: Krome Firepower Primary: Charged Arrow Release Secondary: Lunging Knife Uppercut Special: Melee Block The ZR308 Recuve Bow is one of Krome Firepower's most famous bows to date. It has a very good power level considering it is a recurve bow, and has quite a long range for that same reason. It is accurate up to about 80 meters, where it will start to become less predictable as it keeps traveling through the air. As it was not meant for competition, the ZR308 has a concealed knife inside the bow itself. This attached knife can only stab or be used in an upward swing, but is quite sharp. The bow is also very strong, and is able to survive even the hardest of hits by the sharpest of blades. --- Yep, I got a description for it already! It's nearly done on the model, I just really need an arrow modeled out.

Uh... anyone? I got the arrow done, and an arrow rest for it now. Does anyone care to comment on ANYTHING I've done around the place (other than Xavious, I talk to him a lot on MSN ^^)? |

I've always wanted a bow! Will the arrows be special in any way? How does the concealed knife work? How would you sight it? Would making it a compound bow be out of the question? Also, give it a magnetic arrow rest. Those things kick ass. |

^^ The arrows are going to be explosive if I can get it that way (similar to GoW's arrow thing, but more of a Turok 2 style instant explode projectile). The concealed knife is able to be used by a secondary fire activated, whereupon the anim would have a hand remove the top portion of the bow (which I've considered for in designing the top portion of the bow), and then you'd lunge forwards, and perform some sort of uppercut with the knife, which is attached to the bottom part of the bow. It's like a stab of sorts. BTW, I plan on the lunge being something you have to use a BIT of skill to get to work correctly. Magnetic Arrow Rest? Heh, I could actually do this the exact way I have the new version of the bow. |

Removing the upper half of the bow and putting it back together again would be akin to restringing the bow. That wouldn't be something you can do quickly enough to stab a guy.EDIT: Tazer arrows? Eh? Eh? |

Actually, it's supposed to be more like you unsheathing a sword from the sheath. The bow arms flex easily enough that it is technically possible by all means. Taser arrows? How would you code that? Be pretty funny to make the taser'd guy have to deal with no vision and have impaired movement (reverse controls?) for a short while! |

I'm still keeping that knife in there! Of course I can do some other things to make it more like a Turok 2 Tek Bow... namely trying to get the scope in there if it so fits. Otherwise, it's just the arrows that are Turok styled (I'm not overpowering the bow!), blue explosion and all. |

Technically possible, but not at all easy to do quickly unless you're a real muscleman. The stiffness of the arms is what gives the bow its power, and if they're easy enough to bend that you can quickly take them apart, stab a guy, and put them together, it's safe to assume you're not going to have a lot of power for shooting arrows.

Put a pin in there, hold down a button to unlock the knife from the sheath, clips back in when you sheath the knife again. |

iv got a recurve and it makes no sence for th bow to be able to hut people then it would have to be really powerfl say fifty pounds of draw wight and if you pulled the top leaf off then the bow would injure you loads and you couldnt put it back together maybe put one on similar to a knuckle duster wher you hands are |

Letting people know, I'm not even working on the bow anymore. Since I've stopped making models entirely (damn you Maya PLE running out), this is also canceled. Sorry, but until I can get either Maya 5 PLE, or Maya 7 PLE, I'm not modelling anymore on any of my guns.... sadly. I actually liked this bow and that Assault Rifle I was making... Although you can get Xavious to send you the ZR308, you can texture that since Xav made a UV map back when this was being made. In other words, it'll need anims only really... As for the knife bit not working, who's not to say the bow arms are able to detension in an instant and retension extremely quickly? It IS a future weapon! |
