Hi,
Here is a pistol model i have modeled some months ago but I never could really use it because im not that good in anmimating. I think I will add a green laser pointer on the mounting rail :P.

Wow, that is a great model!

My only concern is that there's already 4 handguns in the game. How will this be different from the others?

EDIT: I would love to see a replacement for the M806's model. It's starting to show its age.

Yes there are too many common handguns. :P I want more imagination for the weapons. But the replacement idea is great. :}

Love the model! But whats wrong with redundant weapons? They don't have to be significantly different to warrant their creation. If you have more weapons in general, it can be just a choice of taste rather than a functionality choice, something I love the idea of.

Say you like the feel of the the revolver, having a high damage but balnced out by the fact that it requires more skill, but you just don't like the look of a double barreled revolver? Good enough reason, for me at least, to make another magnum revolver.

I think that having a lot of weapons IS better, but i think that they must have some sort of... "trademark"...
the M50 is the only assault rifle with a grenade launcher and a camera.
the SRS can be used as a silenced sniper.
the AM67 has a blinding flash.
the SAR12 is like the assault rifle that has a lot of bullets and fast ROF.
the Wilson revolver is the only handgun that shots a shotgun from it.
and so on...
even little things like the color of the laser or design of the weapon(like the fifty nine) do some sort of trademark.
It would be cool if this handgun had gold/yellow laser. 8-) and maybe some special bullet.

It could possibly have a melee function, as there are currently no pistols that can do regular bashing someone on the skull melee (in fact, no pistol can do melee, period).

especially the gold laser and the fiery bullets sounds cool
for the mele function i have got already some ideas from other games like Shadow Ops

Would it be possible to share the model say as a static mesh so i can see what the texture looks like on it? That way i can make it look better and see what needs to be changed on it as i go!

And i have a question: is that all of the UV, because it looks like some bits are missing (ammo, trigger, etc.)

Yea i can give you the Maya file if you have Maya or for UT the ASE File
The UV Map is not finished but this are the main parts.
The area in the upper left corner of the UV Map should be only black because these Parts are not Visible.

Wow, that is an amazingly good recreation of the gun! :shock:

Now that's something I'd really support to get into BW. I can care less about making a pistol different from the rest, I always think what makes a pistol better in each situation is the mag ammo, and the accuracy (damage helps, but accuracy is my point). So... bring on da pistols!

OK, this is what ive got so far, the textures quite plain which will allow for decals and similar items to be placed on it such as the maker, model and the serial number. Let me know if theresany problems with it.

If you want i could do the textures for the smaller parts, but this would require an ASE that supports mutiple textures, because the current one can only use 1, and the UV map

Also i have a suggestion for the model, it shouldn't be too hard to do, but then again i dont really know how hard it is because i can't do it. anyway make it like a USP Match, like the guns that Angelina Jolie used in tomb raider, its all the same but it has a target shooting weight on the end which is supposed to increase accuracy or something like that.

For the smaller parts i have to do the Uv mapping.
The Iron Sight should be just one colour but for the hammer i would be very happy if you could make a texture like in Crysis.

Thanks to zer0 now i have finished modelling and zer0 finished texturing.

Looks pretty good.

I'd recommend a couple more scratches on the handle and barrel, though. It looks almost too clean in its current state.

Now I finished trying to animate it and it worked very well. Now I only will add an LAM and then I will start animating.
