I've started to try getting the idea of making a weapons pack of my own, considering how damn popular Kelly's and fische's are, and they are using some decently popular ideas of adding new guns.

So right now, I'm making myself a few SMG models. First up: Mac-10! What I'm thinking is to create this gun along with Uziel Gal's weapon, or simply the Uzi. :P

To make a note: these will be in UT2004 quality, not Crysis quality. That means these shouldn't take too long to create. Yay for modelling for this game!

Why not mini peacemaker type of weapon? A SMG but with rockets instead?

I'd offer my help, but I'm in the modeling for Crysis mode. My only problem now is I have to learn rigging, animating, and UV mapping in 3DS Max to even think about getting my stuff into that game. Unless of course I find someone to help (NOT a hint, I wouldn't want to take away BW's members).

Good luck though, I might be able to help with coding if you ever need it.

P.S. This reminds me, I gotta finish up my projects like I said I would... Gotta love procrastination!

Hmm.... that might be a funny idea to toss in. Can you try making some concept art of such a weapon? I usually use a ref pic to create models. It's how I roll I guess you could say! :P

I too need to learn UVs, rigs, and animatizing in Maya, but it shouldn't be too hard considering I'm finally get a hang of the UV editor in Maya. As for Crysis modelling.... I'd love to create stuff for that game, but as my computer sucks.... I'd never be able to even see my creations in action. :(

Well if you need any assistance, just let me know, I can do textures and I think I have some audio lying around here somewhere...

Well i would try drawing out a rough sketch of a mini peacemaker type SMG however i am artistically challenged.. i can't even draw stick people =(

Where i lack in artistic skills i excel in idea's and creativity so i guess its somewhat balanced/... but if you want me to even try somewhat at drawing a rocket smg then i guess i can try...

I'd love to use your help zero! I just need to finish the actual gun model(s), and get UVs all sorted out (which might be a problem, I had a few errors with UVs not exporting right). As for audio.... hit me with some good 'uns!

--

I should show you my notebook of sketches of guns I've been making over the months (oh, and my randomly funny comic-style 30 second drawing of a mad guy). Starts as really horrid, but the last ones I've drawn turned out to be much better. You do have to start somewhere!

And I've finished the model! Now on to UV maps and animations...

NOTE: The tiny red dot in the 3rd pic is where you are aiming for through the ironsights.

oooh, looks nice... thats what I like about your models, you finish them really fast and they still turn out awesome!!! :good:

Now I have to do a little research on the Mac-10, just for reference

And I think you should put one of those really cool supressors on it

Post subject:  Re: Mac-10

Hmm.... a suppressor on this might be viable, considering this already had the cylinder that would have the screw texture on it... I don't plan on the Mac-10 being really a high-tech weapon though, it's only to be a fast firing CQB style gun. Should be fun to get duals for though. :P

Edit: 5 minutes of working on the suppressor and... poof! It's there!

hmmmm... the fifty-9 isn't a Uzi?

Post subject:  Re: Mac-10

Nope, Fifty-9 is like a cross between a Skorpion VZ's folding stock and a Mac-10 (or that's how I look at it...). I don't like the design of the gun though, so.... actual (or slightly modified) Mac-10! :P

well, I think that the silencer covers the secondary fire just nicely

Do you know how to do UV maps yet?

Post subject:  Re: Mac-10

I'm learning, but I do hope that I can understand it much faster now that I have figured out the Auto UV mapping tool Maya has. The main thing will be cutting and sewing UVs so they match up to each other correctly.

Thank you!

Anyone else got suggestions? Besides fixing a few errors with the fire selector... Kelly's already discussed that one with me. :)

Hi there. I just registered to post in this topic, to soggest something to the pack you're making ^^. Is a pleasure to see people creating more and more weapons for Ballistic Weapons, since is know that Ballistic Weapons still have a big hole in Actual Weapons replicas.

For example, I miss a RPG-7 Replica on Ballistic Weapons, since its characteristics would fit great in the mod. So I think, if you want of course, that you should add this weapon to your pack.

To make it Fit better with the Ballistic weapons theme, you could make possible to toggle when the charge explode, if it explodes on contact or with a timer. The laser guide could be discarded I think, because it is on the G5 too, and that the path that follows the Rocket is a bit erratic since the rocket rotates in mid-air, as seen in GTA IV.

I thinked about the AK74u, which is really good as a submachine gun (even if it is a rifle in real life) with grenade launching capatibilies.

I attach some images I found that could explain and ilustrate what I wanted to say. I hope they help ^^.

See you soon and good luck with the Pack ^^.

PD: I know this don't have anything to do with this, but today I tried to register into levels4you, in order to download some UT 2004 Stuff, and the register option is broken. Since they don't have any public direction or email to submit these type of problems (which I think is a bit troublesome...) I can't contact with them (since the only way to contact them is via email or PM in the forums, but to see their profile or in order to do a PM, I need to be registered, which I can't. Ironic, isn't it  ), so, if someone can and want, please send to the site admin my problem via PM, or send me via PM his Email and I will warn them myself. This is intolerable... Anyway, thanks for your time ^^.
