The karma system was here long before you joined, I liked that much better because you need to earn your status with other means than post count.

i think i was around for the karma system...at least the tail end of it anyway, i wasnt really that fond of it...doesnt really welcome new ppl all that well for some reason. personally im fond of the idea of promotions done by an actual person

First off, if you (a mod) give them bad karma or whatever, that person might think that the mod just hates him/her, regardless of whatever the truth is, and there'd probably be accusations of favoritism.

If you just do the community karma thing, it'd be a lot easier to accept whatever karma score you get, considering its from the community as a whole.

complicated!! i like most the idea of us devs, (possibly mods) handing out a nice rank.. maybe for people to stick in their sigs.. and if anyone cheats, then we can fix it

I think that would probably be best, give people a special rank thats just kind of additional but wouldn't require a complete overhaul of the current system.

Gods of Mods is very fitting, and definately having customized ranks for moderators/sponsors

more on gods...for telephone fun when someone calls you answer "god speaking, i know you did it, and today is your last confession" or something along the lines of that, if you dont suffer from delusions of grandure you could always answer the phone in a different language that whoever is calling you knows you dont speak, this gets really fun when managers or other staff members are calling you within your workplace

Well, us techies like to answer the phone every now and then with some strange comment, e.g. " mortuary" ... you normaly get silence on the other end of the phone
but I like yours...will have to try it sometime...

Actualy, we also cheat, cause we have fancy phones that gives us the extesnion and persons name if it's an internal number, so we at least know if it's someone who can take a joke and not some top boss
