In all honesty PS3 has nothing real going for it, Ridge Racer isn't that great looking, and I'd rather have the lateest incarnation of Project Gotham or Forza.

The PS2 was overpriced at launch too, Sony did the smart thing of cutting more than 50% of the price early on; and guess what? It became successful as hell.

Sony never did anything to the Dreamcast... In fact, the Dreamcast was quite a formidable rival for the PS2 (since it totally wiped out the PS1 during the first quarter of its launch).

What happened was that Sega just wasn't getting enough profit off of it (since it was fairly new, and it was competing with N64, PS1 and PS2).

But hey! At least we got great Sega titles spread across all the other platforms!

Answer: You don't... You just buy the detachable 120gb hard drive and that's it. Buying another X360 just for the chrome-trim and black finish would just be plain stupid.

And the stupidity of the general customer of consoles is certainly capable of that.

I'd prefer the term gullibility since most (if not all) console gamers don't even look at the specs of a given system before they buy it. It's just their fanboyism that makes them think their favorite console is superior to the others.

All kidding aside, the only viable reason why X360 owners would buy the Elite/Premium edition is for the 120gb detachable hard disk drive or they're just filthy-rich.

However, buying a system for its sheer looks and not for its good gaming library is still a bad reason.

I can easily afford it, but I don't feel any attraction towards a small hard drive.

It's for pansy-@ss games with characters who can only carry two weapons at once *CoughMasterChiefCough~!!!* and fighting games with cheap juggles and big boobs (not that I hate fanservice... just too much of a good thing, y'know...). Go figure.
