You don't seem to disagree with me, though.

To an extent we can see eye to eye. Halo 1 and 2 although 2 was over hyped were still amazing games, the story was original and kept the player asking him/herself "Whats gonna happen next?" which is what compelled me to pay close attention to the hints given in the games dialog. So yea for some things I can agree with you, but 3/4 of the time I cant.

and just so you know i'm playing halo3 on my cousin's x360

Story is very important to me, so it would be a huge plus if I decided to try out Halo some day. But what puts me off is that the vast majority of people that have a very similar gaming interests didn't like Halo at all, especially the 2nd. If the first two exist for the PC and in a bundle that costs nothing, then I'll surely buy n' try.

I can't stop myself from raising a question about all this plot stuff in video games. If plot is important, why do you like UT? It seems like its plot can be summed up as follow.

"Hey, look. Something is moving -" BANG "... HA! Not anymore."

Starts out as a 'Hopeful' - BANG BANG BANG BANG
"Yay, I'm a champion."

I can forgive UT's lack of plot for the simple fact the game really wanted to focus on Multiplayer.

Its hard to make the best MP game AND the best SP at the same time. But the ladder matches were a nice break from the linear obstacle course you play in other games.

Plot is important, a single player campaign really is only as good as its plot. If not the then that SP campaign just becomes "multiplayer" with lots and lots stupid noobs.

The story has to make you believe you are a superhero in a powesuit and you are defining what he did and how he did it for the survival of himself or all of mankind, you not just someguy running around blazing guns pointlessly. But to immerse you that well it takes a well told story.

Simple answer, I don't like UT. (anymore)
