My memory meets the recommended levels, my processors are just shy (1.8GHz vs. the required 2.0GHz) and my graphics cards are probably below the requirements. As for drivers, I couldn't honestly tell you.

The thing is, I would have though it would at least bring the window for the game up, and then maybe quit on the opening video or something like that (though I did disable both sound and videos...). At the very least, UEd should've been able to start...

The UEd application uses the exact same engine as the game. If neither won't run for the same reason, the problem obviously has something to do with your computer not meeting the requirements in one way or another. (a corrupted install is a slight possibility too, of course)

And remember that graphics effects require more than just speed, they require support from both video card and drivers. For example you ain't gonna get Shader Model 3.0 to work on a Geforce FX 5000 series card. At all. So if your GPU is incapable of any effects UE3 uses, you are screwed unless you upgrade, same goes for outdated drivers, but at least the latter is far less hassle to update.

Go to dxdiag, find out driver versions and hardware specs and post here.

i ran UT3 on my Geforce FX 5500.. it was slow, and looked disgusting, but it did run..

I thought I'd mentioned that I noticed something about a potential quick fix for a problem with the skeletons, mentioned half way down this thread, posted by Davision in Epic forums. I don't know the jargon at all, but you might.

[i]The Runestorm chars are not only messing up my char also any other custom faction that is installed after the runestorm char!! When you have the runestorm faction installed and want to install another custom char you will only get a 2nd Runestorm faction in the selection.


I have found a fix:
I believe its the runestorm zombie customchar.ini that is messing it up. In the faction line there is a simple + missing
\UTGame\Published\CookedPC\RuneStorm\CH_Cx_Zombie

To ensure that there is only one Runestorm faction i did also this

Update: Just added "+" in front of the Factions line and it worked. I noticed duplicate entries for the Runestorm class when choosing characters after installing the new Xeno models, but I don't know if that would affect other new model installations. Either way, the simple fix did the trick.
