Happy belated new year everyone.

My monitor (Viewsonic VX924) celebrated by breaking when there was only 30 minutes left of 2009. Today I got myself a replacement; LG W2243T-PF. Gaming at 1920 x 1080 is pretty sweet.

And here I thought my 1280X1024 was special.

Wait! Wait. One of the coolest monitors I've ever seen was (albeit fictional) the ... thingy that that guy from Dead space has on his chest. It's 2D AND 3D at the same time. I spent a good half an hour looking at it and spinning around to look at it be 3D in a 2D fashion, I will admit. You should *totally* get one of these attached to your chest.

Yes, Isaac has access to some nifty tools. But I find such concept to be purely cool for the sake of staring at it, using such a monitor for general purposes would be a royal pain in the ass.

But 1920 x 1080 is really putting my aging 7900 GTX to the test though. I swim around 30 - 50 FPS in FEAR: Extraction Point for example, with all other settings at max except AA and soft shadows disabled.
