RS must have been heavily inspired by UT3's art direction, in that case.

I don't think it's so much UT3's art direction as its engine that contributes to the look.

Sh*t there are so many detail, i think the simpler weapon is the better, this one is way over tuned.

I dont think this is Lightning gun, cause it have organic parts (4-th screen) which LG didnt have and didnt need.
Maybe some Cryon/Skrith tech?

I'm pretty sure alien weapons wouldn't be fitted with classic terran capacitors (1st & 2nd pic). Also, it's unlikely that they'd add another weapon with capacitors all over, so I'm guessing it's either an UT3efied LG, or something very similar. The orb with the new glow fx looks like a redeemer replacement, maybe some kind of radiation bomb? Cool design, in any case.

Perhaps, i wish they left old weapons as they are and just added more polygons to them.
Oh wait, the engine it self will make them look cool.

Love the lines on that thing. Maybe a little too colorful, but it has a nice combination of heavy metal look and curved organic geometry.

Can't wait to see what it does.

RS has never been the mod team to make a weapon to replace a UT weapon with a exact but different weapons, so i doubt thats the case.

When I Saw the pics I thought it was the lightning gun, but somehow I now think that gun is linked to that orb in some way.

Now I think that is a gun that launches the orb, and now all we need to find out on that theory is what does the orb do to the player or object.

That, or theyre reinventing the warfare mode where the ball has to be launched into the node or making their own version of bombing run where the gun is an addition, although there is already a Bombing run custom gametype.

An orb you throw in the warfare's orb and then BOOM ! An atomic explosion !

Maybe its like a giant EMP mine for vehicles, like you just drop it, and if a vehicle drives by, it gets disabled and your screwed if a turret is around.

Could be a device which, if shot upon deploying, would explode. similar to the trip mine, but alot bigger.

Could be full of riches, and maybe its a currency thing RS is adding.

It explodes into a fiery cloud of burning infernal pencil shavings.
