Not to mention it could finally put an end to those peeps using railguns at point-blank range for lame instakills, even on most vehicles. Imho the current vehicles are a bit too vulnerable @ close range.

And I'm with Datsylel about the reailgun. It's too powerful against vehicles still. Also, it's a far more powerful gun than the Barret rifles that keep getting suggerstes as anti-vehicle weapons. I think that the damage of the railgun when it isn't charged needs to be reduced a lot. Right now, it's still so powerful that there's little motivation for letting it charge up before you fire.

That might have been the intention, but. . .I'm not sure I like it.

And thats why i don't like using the Railgun.



Well i think it looks good without a backpack.

I thought all the weapons were too powerful agains the vehicles, that is what the damage multiplier is for. Just set it to 0.15 and the railgun is no longer a problem nor other weapons.

the railgun, if anything aint nasty enough!! maybe nasty against vehicles.. but thats what it is made for..

DarkCarnivour is a great coder, I'm pretty sure he can remove any lag from ever occuring.
But damn, I can't get enough of the flame effects.

what i meant was on my old slow mac all BW weps lagged me like crazy on lowish medium settings and now nothing lags me on max settings!

DX8.1 is a 3 year old API, the current standard is DX9 and only supported by cards from $100 and up. And soon DX9 will be outdated and DX10 + Vista introduced.
(no backwards compability so Vista won't run many of the old favorites... )

It is strange why UT2004 is DX8.1 and Doom 3 was released 4 months later and is DX9.0c, strange...

still sure you can run old games on Vista.

Not very old games, but I'm pretty sure games since 2002 and 2003 should work fine. To run very old games, you may need external software or even emulators.

I just noticed that in the first screenshot (on this page) the screen with the guy in 3rd person has a backpack on him! I just hope if you shoot it it explodes, would balance out the flamthrowers power and range.
