ok wtf, every time i launch the demo it crashes my computer. i downloaded it from filefront, can someone please tell me if im missing something here? (my comp should be able to handle the game, crashing is a big "wtf")

I cant help you, but I will say "I disliked this demo strongly". There really isn't a reason but It doesn't feel right for some reason.

Make sure you have the lastest drivers.

The demo seems to be problematic for quite a few people, when looking over the Epic forums. Read through those threads James, maybe one is experiencing the same problem as you.

Hey, is anyone able to log into the profile (using gamespy ID), cause i got the exact user name and pass and it still won't work.

i just beat the bio shock demo, i had to turn all of the effects off basically to get no lag.... yay.

that sucks.

Though i find UT3 is a bit more optimized, BioShock seemed to not lag but be slow.

Then it's not an optimization issue. Lag = computer is not able to process all the data quickly enough.

I just installed Bioshock today and it runs smooth on max settings @ 1280 x 1024. Not too shabby. Though I'm skipping AA and AF here.

Oh well, i doubt its lag or again, i think it might just be the pace of BioShock compared to UT3.

Okay, anyone having a hard time logging into there online profile using there gamespyID? Cause i really am.

It really surprises me my compy even ran UT3, considering how low class the stuff in it is... Although... hehe, I was running in that 480 resolution type... why can't we change the graphics on everything individually like UT2k4? That pisses me off... else I'd be running it like UT2k4's graphics and looks and such. And at 1024 res.

UT3's GUI menus are not finished yet, its missing alot of things. This includes the ability to modify advanced video settings. A developer also mentioned the autodetection may be denying some settings and there is a fix, look in the FAQ at the UT3 beta forums

You may need to go into the UT3 ini files and change your settings the hard way.

Rest assured the menus will be fixed when the full version is released. Even Mark Rein admitted the UI was awful in its current state.

If you want to see some trolls check out the UT3 Demo UI feedback forum...Trolls! Trolls, moaners and blackmail-threatening complainers infest every post! The UI slapped people pretty hard.

Im rather amused how many people are complaining it should be like UT2004, seems like yesterday everyone said UT2004 sucked and should be more like UT99. Then again, im not suprised.

People love to complain about things; sometimes just for the sake of complaining... just like what I am doing, now.

2. I'd just say it's perfect right now with the way it's set. I like how the dodging isn't there, but double jump still is. That means there's no reason to suddenly fly around levels like before. However.... wall dodge should still be there, as that makes perfect sense.

Ever since you could do it in real life. Only hitch is that can be considered your second jump, so you can't do a triple jump like you could in 2k4 using it.

Anyway, I've read that the double jumping is whole lot less excessive in UT3, it's a step in the right direction to get rid of it altogether.

I'm not optimistic, UT2003 and U2 were a punch in the face after UT99 and U1, so I'll be highly sceptical. Already its got Wall doging, double jumping and no doubt dodging. Lots of cool flashy graphics and mania gameplay...

It's a lot closer to UT99 now apparently. Jumps are less floaty and have less vertical strength (A double jump seems to equal 1 to 1.5 UT2k4 jumps) , and dodge-jumps have been removed, while movement speed has been increased (like pistol/knife running speed in BW). The rocket launcher has much higher direct impact damage and less splash damage. The flak alt-fire moves more slowly now, while the Link gun's firing rate has increased. All in all it's a lot more frantic than UT2k4, as the weapons seem to be a lot more powerful now, and it's a bit harder to avoid them with more limited dodging ability.

Also, a lot of the hardcore UT2k4 players seem to hate the gameplay changes, as evidenced by the hilarious bitch threads littering the Epic forums. I think that would be good news for those who hated UT2kX.

dodge jumps aren't fully removed, if you have the jump boots, BAM! dodge jump.

I'm loving UT3's demo so far, like already I'm loving the vehicle combat so much because the player doesn't get damage when he's inside the vehicle (unless your in the Manta and someone shoots you and not the Manta), that was one hell of a grip i had with UT2k4.

Yeah, combat is real intense now, even vehicle combat is, like if your not smart enough to kill the Manta from long range (when in Goliath) your practically screwed, he scorpion is now so much fun to drive, due to it having the rocket tracking ball (useful for killing Manta runners) and the speed boast.

Bots are way smarter this time around, I saw one bot running down this giant length of cable that holds up this bridge tower in vCTF-Suspense, and i was totally shocked to see a bot doing it. Real cocky bot.

Heads are funny, lets just say its like when u cut a chickens head off and it runs around for a few seconds before dying (never seen a chicken do that).

Yeah, the weapons are way more powerful than UT2k4's, and i prefer this new style, i'm way better at playing now that the weapons are balanced, the rocket will do 100 damage on a direct hit with little splash damage and its wonderful. The link guns alt fire is much more useful, and the Biogun is quite fun with its alt chargeup fire. Shock comboing someone is great, suck them into it then they explode in a shower of blood and gore (BW can improve it ).

Overall, its insanely fun to play, i have a great feeling i'll be hooked on both vCTF and Warfare for a long time when UT3 comes out this November. Smart lovely bots.

You could dodge in Unreal and UT99.

Yeah, I loved the bots, they are really smart this time.... except for the same problem in 2k4 with how if they are facing one way and are covering you, and someone shoots at them from behind.... they don't register that and they'll wait until they are hit at least once before turning around. What's interesting though is how the bots will target you only if you have a vehicle, or a better vehicle than you. So get a Goliath and expect heavy resistance from bots. But.... grab a Hoverboard and run around, they'll target the Goliath instead.

Funny times though.... grapple a Cicada with the Hoverboard!! You can hang on until you are hurt or you let it go.... then you'll probably die from the fall!

Just out of curiosity, are you a hardcore Quake fan by any chance?
