i prefer the hornet then the banshee.

when i got through cortana on legendary with a friend,
it wasent that OMGWTF difficult.
make one guy stand in the safe area and run through the large flood infested area and make it the the checkpoint or take out any flood monsters with a plasma rifle.

A very odd strategy. Though that doesn't help me since well i'm 1 person.

Its not that hard...Just gotta remember to take a bit more time in the parts where you don't have to just run.

I LOVE the cortana level on hard, its so awesome. I got through it once and didnt die, not once! then when i got to cortana i dashed for the exit and made it.

Flame thrower, maulers, shotguns, assault rifles, Frag grenades (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NOT PLASMA!!!), flame grenades (SCARCE) only use the plasma rifles when you have to, same with the covenant carbine. AIM FOR THE CHEST! Garentees 1 shot kill on flood infection forms. Didnt find much use for the sword.

Sometimes when ammo is completely gone dual wielding 2 plasma rifles can save your butt. Just peek around a corner and pour it on untill they either fall or the rifles over heat. Also them brute needle things work pretty good if thats the only option.

Sword is nice because its good on ammo and takes out those big nasties in one hit, and its decent against the elite flood.

Plasma rifles are good for the armoured flood, and for when you got a lot of infection form, as its pretty easy on ammo and two of them puts out a pretty good stream of damage against the little maggots.

And needlers are like the ultimate anti-sniper weapon. Use them against the emplaced flood, simply fire off a burst, duck for cover, and do it again as necessary. Aiming isn't really a necessity with the needler.

unless that sniper sees all them purple things coming at him...slowly, then he just ducks behind a corner.

meh to each his own, those are just the guns i used to get through on legendary on that 1 map.

I'm talking about Legendary SP on Cortana too, not MP.

The flood pure infection form snipers? Rifle butt.

BR,AR, anything takes them out they are weak. I like to use grenades against them.

Yeah but if you got 2 or 3 of them deployed in their sniper form with other flood slowing you down, the rifle butt isn't much of an option.

Yeah i did. I didnt find it that challengeing. Sure it was tough but definetly doable. Plasma grenades are good for them too... provided it doesnt bounce off the wall into the group of enemies that are charging you.

Yeah, oh well, i find it hard to get close to those sniper/ projectile infections, oh well.

Yeah, when they are in the sniper form they are a hell of a bugger. If you got the needler, use that for them, otherwise, incendiary grenades are good, as well as the flame thrower, as just a short burst of fire kills the pure form instantly, but I suppose the flame thrower isn't available at that point.

If nothing else, just take pot shots at them with whatever weapon you have available and use your cover, then repeat until its dead. Plasma pstol is nice against them because it has some homing, so you can duck behind cover, get a charge started, take aim, and release and duck back again before it has a chance to hit you. Weapons with homing or splash are nice because you can afford to take less time to take aim at the target.

Just remember that plasma grenades stick to the organic walls, so try and chuck a few plasma grenades at the emplaced gunners. If nothing else, it might shake them loose and make them easier to hit.

But you might be able to just run at that point, can't remember off the top of my head.

Well I'm still stuck fighting against the Wraith, a bunch of Brutes/with jetpacks and 2 brutes with plasma cannons... Argh, this is so annoying.

All i have is the Sniper rifle (7 bullets), about 4 BR's, a full Assault rifle and 1 sticky grenade and a covie carbine.... ack!


Gotta try waiting for the jetpackers to attack, then deal with them, then use sniper against Wraith gunner as well as the two Brutes with Plasma cannons (fuel rod gun?). Hopefully that will work and i can deal with the only grunt brutes as they show up.

Decided to just make a mad rush past the 4 brutes and did away with that annoying Wraith. Beat Tsavo high by as X suggested, grabbing a wraith... cept it was the 2nd of the 3 you fight are that initial Wraith. I grabbed it and just dropped plasma on top of the third one. Then proceeded to smash through the Brute blockade by pummeling it to death.

I'm in The Storm now, and its going alright, glad this time around i had 2 other Mongooses to fight off the Scarab (on Heroic, all of them died b4 the scarab arrived). I'm now at the fight the Brute Chieftain with the Hammer(zeit).

And yes, i am going to continue keeping you posted as I move down this hell hole that is Halo 3 on Legendary... til June, then its GTA4!

Yep, that method for Tsavo highway is pretty darn effective. I'd hate to take out that blockade without some heavy armour.

Yep, it really quickened the pace of it, covered it quite fast.

I only died once on the first attempt with the stolen Wraith (had to re steal it upon respawn) when assaulting that barricade. Only cause i went in too fast and was swarmed by bloody jumppack Brutes.

Other than that it went rather easy.

Now i'm in Floodgate, very very close to the end of Floodgate, i love the hammer, best thing against the flood (almost said zerg for no reason).

Next will be that first level on the new halo/ark thingy. Man that hunter battle will suck, but once you get to the tank part, it just gets absurdly easy (always is with a tank)... so it shouldn't take long til i'm half done all missions.

Oh man, the Scarab battle on The Storm was the most epic of them all. I managed to snag one of the Anti-Air Wraiths and it annihilated the Scarab with fully automatic green fuel rod bombs. Those things are awesome in every sense of the word. It's definitely worth it to try and jack one.

When i trying to jack it, it endup blown to bits...

I have the hardest time jacking the wraiths. To be honest, I'm still not sure how I did it. They always break when I try.

Best bet is to just pummeling them fire from the sides (no grenades or explosives) in hopes the gunner and driver are knocked dead, if you can do that its easy pie. If not, well, then its best to blow the ♥♥♥♥♥ up... grab the back and start punching!

Beat Floodgate, into the next one, so much vehicle combat!

Me and 1 Marine on a grenade launcher warthog and no backup vs Scarab and a never ending stream of Brute choppers equals NO FUN!

Fun times.

Oh ya. Tried using a Wraith, miserable failure.

Yeah, I find the wraith more or less useless, save for that Tsavo Highway part.

Going to have to put the thing off. My 360 has just gone and turned into a 3 rings of death phase.

Alright, turns out I was to hasty, my 360 has reserexted itself (unplugged and repluged the 360 in and blamo, its working fine again.).
