FileFront Closing?

They can't do this,Fileplanet can suck my dogs dick for all I care. But filefront...I don't care if they delete my files,give me pop ups or give me lots of problems and waiting. They're hella lot better than any other web sharing website.

Fileplanet has horrible servers unless you register, & Gamer's Hell isn't much better. If they're serious, I'll have NO SOURCE OF DOWNLOADS without getting speeds so horrible it's barely worth downloading.

Edit: Oh, and I'm not ♥♥♥♥♥ paying to get my downloads, either. NOT WORTH IT. Pardon my French, mods, but this has got me PO'd.

Moddb will survive, they do store mods on their websites server(or something). I guess if filefront really is going away they will find another website for hosting as well.

I don't know if any of you were on those forums or not though.

Not yet. They were saying that they might be able to host a measly 250gb, but connections would be hampered by their servers CPU. The plan is that n0e will eventually sort something out.

You two are not thinking it through. First of all, no sane person would go through this length to pull a prank. Secondly, neither would a sane person make thousands of communities and people go through hell to back up their stuff in time for the 30th just to be funny. And take special note of the lengthy farewell messages, the news all over the internet and filefronts new URL. All of that to be funny? I don't think so.

But if the impossible does happen and it is in fact an April fool's joke, Filefront will no longer have my respect.

I've seen worse done, much worse. Xifre on April Fools 2 years ago pretty much for the whole day renamed every game into super randomly random names and or silly stuff like Hello Kitty buys a car (fyi, that replaced CSS xD)

So let me get this straight, UP. You think a prank that didn't have a precursor, only scrambled a few string objects of a website for the course of 24 hours is much worse than one of the biggest file hosting services in existence going bankrupt for the unforeseeable future, forcing millions of users to spend time backing up both personal files as well as common ones owned by gaming communities?

Still, this is too much to be a prank. Given the state of the world economy at the moment- and how many businesses are shutting down this might just be true. Furthermore, businesses use cash flow forecasts, balance sheets and profit/loss accounts to determine the level of capital they may or do have in the future or at the present. Filefront is just another division of one of these companies and if its profit/loss accounts, cash flow, balance sheets, etc start to look sour given the current conditions and if the main branch cannot spare capital to keep Filefront running, then it would be practical in the longterm to suspend or completely eliminate those operations. Hopefully this will be a short-term action and Filefront will be up and running again.

God, downloading stuff in the next months if this does prove to be true is going to suuuck.
