Well the thing about carrying in public is it has to be concealed it cannot be visible, You have to be 21 or older and then you have to have your permit at all times and you have to go through alot of courses, gotta get said gun registered with sherrifs office or cops or something, It can be anysize you want as long as it cannot be seen benneath your clothing, so i cant carry like an uzi or an ak or a shotgun unless i got a trenchcoat or something and even then it would be pretty difficult trying to hide that 8 lb. ak under your coat. When I get my license ill probable get either a glock in 45. acp or a small .38 revolver.

I just cant stand it when the governemnt encroaches on american citizens rights even though they are protected in our constitution. It just makes me mad.

And Bjossi I dont think it would be un to see that happen . but yeah they make these holsters that go into your pockets and they allow very easy access to the weapon when they are needed. wich i hope would be never but when the situation dictates it may be necasary to defend yourself or others.

Im not a paranoid person but I just like being prepared for that awkward situation.

Check local listings. There are a few states where open carry is legal, a few states give concealed carry permits at 18, there's not too many states I can think of with the gun registration thing. Heck, two states, Vermont and Alaska, don't even require permits to carry concealed.

No offense, but its things like that that make me nervous; no license needed for concealed weapons, that is. Of course in Alaska there's not really a lot of people at risk of getting shot...

Wow, i've visited Vermont at least 6 times since 2000, and have never noticed anything like that. Maybe its just the absence of billboards. I wish every country had no billboards dotting the highways, they are unsighty.

Wyoming's the least populated. Alaska's actually 47th (is the least densely populated, though). 7th Highest violent crime rate, though (high suicide rate, too). Of course, the state also has problems with alcohol abuse.

Wyoming is blissfully empty. I love traveling through it. But it's got the most hellacious weather in the 'states, short of alaska, MAYBE. Idaho suits me just fine. Plenty of mountains, plenty of empty space without teeming hordes of brain-dead humans.

Kentucky doesn't have bad Hunting, either, except when your rifle scope isn't sighted in properly and you're trying to hit a target the size of a grape from 50 yards thereabouts.

speaking of alaska when i was living up there we had this neigbour move in and we heard him dry fire 23 guns in his garage the first day, and after that he always checked his mail with a semi auto pistol in his hip holster...quiet guy kept to himself, didnt see much of the wife either. theres a saying we had there that in AK you're either running from the law or chasing the runners

Hmm. I think I'm more likely to put up with neighbors who keep to themselves and constantly carry firearms than ones that are constantly poking their nose into your buisness in order to "look out for your own good".
