The idea, Kaboodles, is that through a large number of chemical processes it ends up ending up right where it started. Then the process repeats again. It would be a really friggin' long equation and take the best minds in the world to find anything, and it isn't possible at our current technology level, but it isn't impossible. It's not that it doesn't need fuel... It just makes it's own. From the fuel it already used. Then converts the original fuel. Then that goes through yet more processes before eventually coming back to the original element. Fuel it once and it's good to go for near-eternity.

Even if it is somehow a closed circuit perpetually active device, how would you get any energy out of it?

Remember that energy can not be created or destroyed. Any energy removed from this cycle would need to be restored by adding it in somehow. Whatever is actually generating the electricity will need to be replaced eventually.

This is true. Nothing is infinite, no matter how long an energy source can last.
Even if a method to create an infinite source of energy was discovered, 100% of that energy would go into keeping the process going. After all any energy waste would mean the process loses its infinity.

Unless it does not rely on it's own produced energy

I've had ideas where if there are actually infinite parallel universes(ex. Sliders) If we could find a way to make a safe,infinitely sustainable gateway to a parallel universe,and if we found one that was made up entirely of fuel/energy and created one such gate,we could have a potentially infinite source of energy,once that universe is out,readjust to another fuel/energy-verse and suck off of that for a while.Repeat the process for all eternity.

If it relies on another energy source, that particular source needs to be infinite, otherwise both sources will go dry eventually.

Permanent magnets but second some vids there is a mean to have some perpetual movement from a permanent magnetic motor.
they use the repulsion as a force to make a port of the movement and used in all around of the rotor / stator we have a perpetual movement, but I'm not certain, even if some powerful industries won't have this because it doesn't give any money after being sold, no ?

Blargh.... I haf been trumped. Yes, energy cannot be created or destroyed, and yeah, I'm seeing the proposition to be waning. I'm not exactly sure how one would get electricity out of it, I simply focused on the idea of an infinite process XD

Indeed. But I think this is in the league of time travel, a concept that will probably never become reality.
The only thing that can save this concept's ass is scientists proving wrong that energy cannot be created. . . if that was possible then an infinite source could output usable energy without using its own resource and killing the infinity as a result.

Also, Sarge, what if there were something that sustained the field? Renewed it, if you will?
That would make it truly permanent.

Edit: Plus, some sort of water-driven generator that uses it's turbines to drive the generator AND keep a controlled source of water constantly moving could do the same thing without a shit-ton of chemical experimentation, fission and fusion. And that idea still isn't wholly possible, as at the very least it would need something else to jump-start it. Then there's the erosion of parts and all sorts of mechanical problems like that. My omni generator idea has been brutally slaughtered by present scientific fact

Wait, what? That's not how it works at all.

In order for you to "come back" to the original fuel source, you'd have to put as much energy into making it as you got when you used said fuel.



Even ignoring friction and erosion and whatnot, such a thing would still be useless for generating infinite energy. It would have to divert all of its energy into moving the water through the generator in order to keep it going. You can't extract any energy from it because if you do, it will stop.

Same goes for the magnet thing. I think we've had this conversation before in another thread...
