When you do benchmark it is best to run 3 identical tests, then calculate the average from those. That makes it easier to compare performance of 2+ different drivers.

That is up to you. Pick a game or a benchmark program (fx. Aquamark). If you go with a game you have to pick one that has a benchmark feature, most modern games do.

Then you run the benchmark 3+ times without changing any settings and write down the results. Then find the average.

After this is done you switch to a new video driver, then repeat and compare the results to the ones you got earlier.

Though keep two things in mind; firstly the more times you run a benchmark, the more accurate average you get, and secondly benchmark results in one game will NOT reflect results from other games, different drivers work well for different games.

would fraps work ok? I have that but nothing else. I am aiming to get the HIGHEST Frames per second on every game I have.

You are in for a challenge then. No driver exists that meets that exotic requirement. You'll have to settle for a driver that works well with all games, not necessarily giving the highest framerates in all games.

yeah.. thats true. I have downloaded the latest ATI catalyst drivers off of ATI's Website. I will test the card with those drivers when I receive the card.

That is kind of shitty. You'll have to rely on onboard video for gaming for an entire week.

well at least I can play super mario RPG: legend of the seven stars on the SNES emulator for almost the whole week. I want to play my other PC games so BADLY!

Are you ready to complain and wait more time for another send & receive process or will you invest in a "new" motherboard?

The latter is less hassle and pretty cheap but is a step backwards towards upgrading. Of course you could keep the newer mobo though.

I have a PCI Express mobo bjossi. oh, I just got A tracking number from the powercolor RMA team just now and it says it will arrive tuesday of next week.

I have the card in today! finally, after all this waiting. they sent my original card back to me and thats what I got.

So...now we are back to square one.

yes. thats correct! also, I finally figured out why I get them anomalies. Its a software thing because Powercolor told me my card was fine.

sorry 2 say this guys, but the graphical anomalies strike back with my new card that i got! . I uninstalled the ati catalyst 9.7 drivers because i thought it was a drivers issue, but I get graphical anomalies in fallout 3 and AOE3! thats it. the games that work fine r crysis, Star wars empire at war gold pack, and call of duty world at war!

No game would run after uninstalling the video driver (unless the games in question support software rendering), you have to install a new set afterwards.

And by the way, judging by how frequently you get anomalies with all sorts of driver and card combos, there must be something wrong with your system, not the GPU or the driver.
