Well, it only gets released in South Africa this friday (tomorrow), but I plan on seeing it (when it eventualy gets to my town).

Truth is, ninjas didn't really exist at all. Ninjas are sort of make-believe. And yes, pirates are a lot cooler than these "ninjas". But they're not so cool in the real world. They hang captured male prisoners by the P-E-N-I-S(that's right), interrogate them, and stab them 3-4 times before leaving them to die that way. Ouch. By interrogate, I mean, "where's the treasure?" "I dunno, me no-OW!" (stab) I loved the movie anyways, loved the duels they had. |

Yeah, I thought a rat flail would make an interesting weapon, but its not my idea, its from VG Cats (coolest web comic ever (well, one of the coolest, at least)) Its a well known fact that pirates are cooler than ninjas.
Yar! I don't think they did that to all pirates they captured, but I can imagine plenty of them had that horrible fate... ouch. I need to see that movie. Isn't there going to be a third movie, too? |

I like how they name the movie, now 2 or 3 or 4 as far as I can see, just Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest. I hate when they add a number to the title, way overused. |

The sword play in Pirates of the Carribean one or two could have been done by a fencer who's been fencing for a week. I've been fencing for nearly five years and any of I could beat any of them without hardly trying. It's made to look flashy, but in reality, it's not effective. |

No, you can make a realistic swordfight without it being dangerous. It's not even hard. But it'll never be done, becasuse then the action is all to precise and fast for the average dumb-as-crud audience to understand, other than "Lookit! Swords!" My only grudge with the POTC franchise is how they've made pirates all happy-go-lucky-look-at-us-were-the-good-guys-ish. Pirates were murderous cutthroats. They don't even DO anything piratey in the movies, other than sail about. Have they pillaged one innocent ship in the movies? Attacked one harbor? Well, okay, I'll give you the harbor, but that was the BAD pirates . POTC makes pirates look WAY too nice.
And Ninjas beat pirates senseless. Pirates are just morons with swords on boats. Ninjas have real ultimate power. |

Pirate-ninja... there's an interesting idea... You get to say Arr! and do... whatever ninjas do... On second thought, there really isn't any competition. I mean, really, as a pirate you get to pillage villages and say Arr!, but as ninjas, you're like a bad fart, silent but deadly. They may be morons with swords on boats, but there sure is a lot more pirates around than ninjas. They could overwhelm the ninjas with sheer numbers... |

I'm giving my age away here...for the youngsters hanging around here that don't know, we were fed tons of ninja movies in the "old" days that were dubbed in to english, the result being they would talk, then you would hear some english comment much later than the actor talking !! very uncool ! |

Yeah, sure, they might be better in the wilderness, but lets see them outlast the pirates at sea. 
...not a whole lotta places to vanish to when you're in a boat in the middle of some ocean... Cyberax brings up a good point, you don't need subtitles to undsterstand pirates... err, usually... Making them vastly superior (and way cooler) compared to ninjas. Arr! |

Actually, the whole misconception that you can't hide on a ship at sea makes it that much easier for a Ninja to do. Just seta a hook into the side of the hull just beneath the water level, tehn stays underwater breathing through a tube and holds himself against the side of the ship with metal spike he hets into the wood. Climbs out silently during the night and silently kills the crew, starting with the night watch. And how on earth does understanding people make them cooler? Makes them make more sense, but. . .Honestly, if I'm around a ton of people I might have to kill, I'd rather they didn't understand me. |

Bah. I still think pirates are cooler. They don't need to hide. I was kind of joking about that part where undertanding pirates makes them cooler. (But they are still cooler.) Hmm... I thought I stated pirates were cooler, not that they could kill ninjas...

Pirates had no fear of dying in tight situations. Like this dude who just stood on broadside taunting the French when they were loading up cannons to fire at the ship (He got hit directly by one of the cannonballs later) 
I don't know about ninjas, but they have these nifty tricks I always see in video games: Disguises grappling hooks smoke bomb etc. However, pirates are very aggressive. What if the night watch spots the hook? I don't think that's going to pretty. You give them one moment, they take that chance to blast your brains out. |

How are you going to spot a small (but strong) hook clinging to the side of a ship in the middle of the night? Sorry, but if people could can't see that well. Besides, the point of the night watch on a ship was to watch for storms and other ships etc. not too keep an eye out for ninjas. |

Uhh... do you really think a ninjas gonna be hanging on the side of a ship to kill a bunch of pirates? Doesn't really make sense to me... Besides, what about the chinese pirates? They were a lot nastier than the other ones, and I'm fairly sure at least a few of them had some ninja-ish training or something that made them pretty sneaky. There you go, ninja-pirates. Yar!! |

Hail China! (I originated from there, so why wouldn't I?) If I can go off-topic here, I can say that China had one of the craziest crossbows out there in ancient-medieval times. They shoot like machinegun bursts (at least 4-5 bolts in a row!)! (Chu-Ko-Nus in AOEII have them!) I wonder if they used that on the high seas once, it'd be neat if the bolts are covered in a cloth of flammable oil..... To Abbadon: I wonder how they get all that fine material to suit their needs. A small but strong hook? reminds me of this show or something (could have been my imagination or dreams) talking about supporting an elevator that reaches into outer space. The supposts are thin lightweight things. |
