i could only use the new pistol and machine pistol using arena mode.

i found the new "taser" shot gun in the arena menu too. (are there 3 guns? or more?)

ok these guns really kick ass, high quality and fun to gun people down with. thanks red shift for paying them so RS could make the possible.

I don't know who SB was supposed to pm about this, but apparently something's gone wrong. I got a dl link though, so if you want it bad (and are a trusted forum regular, heh)...

Anyway, the bonus pack consists of 3 "simple" weapons (10 gauge tactical shotgun, .40 machine pistol, 10 mm pistol). All nicely pimped up with stainless steel and blue lasers n shit. Had some more stuff planned, but the RS guys need to work on the regular release too so that will have to wait. Also I'm a bit broke ass at the mo, ahem.

I'm still confuzed about what's going on, but if there's new content out that needs testing, I'm volunteering. Assuming that's okay with Runestorm.

The Summary

10mm RS8 Pistol- best replacment for the Assault rifle

This gun reminds me of the Desert Eagle fro CSS except it has less power and not much kick, but don't get me wrong, being like this helps the RS8. The sounds when fired are great as always and it is one of the better silenced guns that works well either with the silencer on or off. At times it can be powerful, but thats okay since it fires upward some times. The burst fire is really a fun new feature for the pistol, i found that it best worked at killing guys with shields, 1 shot (really 3 bullets) gets rid of most shields than you can go back to semi-auto mode and blast his face in. . The blue laser sights are fun and cool, their for one thing better to see than the less vibrent red laser sights of the M806A2 Pistol. I'd keep this as it is for the most part, others might thinks its too powerful, but still who am i to say.

XRS10 Machine-Pistol- best replacement for the Assault rifle

This gun, is a wonderfullly new addition to the BW universe. When you first pick it up you think its a stupid clone of the XK2, but your wrong... dead wrong! It might share something with the XK2, it still feels fresh and fun to use (and i'm sure dual wielding it will be even better). Like the RS8 i really like the addition of the blue laser sights, real good fun. with or without the silencer the XRS10 Machine-Pistol, sounds totally unique, i for one love the un-silenced vesion but it still sounds great with the silencer. This gun should stay as it is, its balanced and has good ammo count.

MRS38 Tactical Shotgun- best replcement for the Flak cannon

Now this, this is a shotgun! Puts the doubled barrelled one too shame. I love the alt fire taser effect, i found the best way to use it is to get a enemy up close to a wall than shock him than right after that you shoot him with your primary fire. Though i just want to know RedShift, what is the true purpose of the flashlight attached to it? As always this is a great, well-balanced gun, that is sure to please.


The Bad

- I couldn't find any of the 3 guns in the Ballistic Arena mut, nor in Loadout, i could only find it at the bottom of the swapping menu in the Ballistic Weapons mut. I'm pretty sure this is just a mistake made by RS (RuneStorm, not Redshift)

- When in the Ballistic Weapons swapping menu i took out the M806A2 Pistol from the assault rifle and switched it with the 10mm RS8 Pistol and when i went inot DM-Trident i didn't spawn with the RS8 but with the M806A2 Pistol, i then only found the RS8 where the assault rifle spawn point would be. I think theirs some problem in Ballistic Weapons that won't let go of the setupid old pistol even if its not been checked off.

-All three of the new guns (while using the Ballistic Weapons mutator) when picked up (don't know about when spawned in like how arena or Loadout does it) don't have any additional ammo, please give them some RS.

- The RS8 and the XRS10 should both be dual-wieldable at least when dual wielding is released, namely cause they are pistols and sidearms.


The Verdict

Overall, a great bonus pack, it might have a few minor problems (mostly because of how ballistic weapons is) to fix and this will be another great addition for BW. Redshift, your moeny hasn't been wasted on these 3 guns, and if i could i'd try to do the same, sponser RS to make a gun or 4, name;y the Desert Eagle or the G36 gun series.

And no these weapons are a bonus pack that Redshift paid for RS to make, they'll be a sepearte download. Also the TEC-9 is the XRS10 Machine-Pistol.

These weapons kick ass, all of them, and I'm greatly thankful to Redshift for making them a reality.

As for the weapons missing in the mutators; this is a beta version of a bonuspack, you shouldn't expect RS to update the default BW system files until the final release since the weapons aren't fully tested.

ok.. these are like BW weapons.. they dont need a mutator to work, they should work with swapping and arena.. Loadout support will come with next BW release, along with dual wielding

and u cant begin with them yet either, until next BW release.. they will all work VERY well in next BW version..

this IS a seperate BW bonus pack, not inculded with BW.. there may be more like this in the future

Thanks for clearing that up SB.

I've found 3 other bugs.

Bug#1: If you get hit with the taser from the new shotgun, theirs no motion blurr, but i'm guessing this is cause RS hasn't updated the BW config to have a check box for motion blurring.

Bug#2: (fallow these directions) Have either the Machine Pistol or 10mm pistol out with the silencer on, then pres the special functions key to start removing the silencer, but before its taken off press alt fire to activate the laser on the gun, then you'l see that the silencer is still on but once you pres primaru fire, you'll see that its gone.

Bug#3: I know RS already knows about this but its still a glitch/bug, namely if you have a silencer on any gun that has a silencer on it than you start removing and press fire, you'l skip the entire removing animations, and you be able to shoot way quicker than if you just waited to have it taken off.

I see SB has already answered most of the questions, but you can easily get the guns ingame via WoRM and BW's standard swapping feature. That's how I do it, anyway.

The flashlight (Special key) is mostly for show, but it does actually help a bit on darker maps. The bots love this feature (even though it's utterly useless for them), and on spooky maps like DM-WarmBody it really adds to the atmosphere.

Has anyone noticed the following bug: when you pick up both the XRS-10 and RS8, you can't (scroll) select the latter. You either have to throw the XRS or wait till it runs out of ammo; only then you can select the RS8 pistol.

Re the Desert Eagle and G36... Cool guns, maybe I'll sponsor one of those assuming no one else does it and RS aren't too busy (and I'm not too broke). But since they're kinda planned anyway, maybe there should be a discount or something.

And yes, the MRS138 does pack a nice punch, as Teddy can testify. Literally blew that sucker right into the ceiling with it!

Yeah well i'm starting to think that this sponser thing is really good, more or less good for everybody. Did it cost you alot Redshift to get RS to make the guns?

But can't you just press the number button twice to cycle between the two weapons Redshift? I never use the scrollwheel.

For some reason i just can't decide whether i use the scroll-wheel more or just getting the gun by pressing its # key.

I found the 3 guns in the Ballistic Arena menu, it was half way to the bottom where-as the other BW guns are almost the first ones in the long list of mostly stupid weapons i have.
