There are some console commands you need to type, I'm sure you can easily find them out with google or even in the UT2004 manual.

You had a chance to get a PC, so stop whining mkay?

But I think the command to record demos is 'demorec ', but that may very well be wrong. I'll do more digging around if you want Dark.

Ok, I found this with Google.

demoplay [demoname] - Plays the specified demo
demorec [demoname] - Records a demo using the demoname you type
stopdemo - Stop recording a demo

I hope this helps you Dark. :)

You should be able to record demos in MarsWars, but you'll only be able to play them from the MarsWars mod, not default UT2004.

And they can't be converted to a media formet that I know of, you may need to use Fraps to record demos that are playable in media players. And of course compress them with codecs first, Fraps recorded videos are huge in filesize when uncompressed.

yeah, only mods like TO:c let you convert them from the mod itself.

There are a lot of programs you can use, like VirtualDub.
Just open up the AVI you recorded with Fraps, then click Video > Compression, and in there select Windows Media Video 9 codec and click Ok. Then you click File > Save as AVI.

And the file will be decently compressed but maintains around 70% of the original video quality. I prefer to use DivX codec though.

Are you referring to movies that you record with FRAPS or with the console commands?

Movies recorded with Fraps, since the recorded demos of UT2004 aren't a video streaming extension as far as I know. Which would explain the low filesize.
