Well, I finally got enough time to finish my weapon for junk war. Its not textured really good, but it does work, which was the important part for me. Its just a saber, and I don't know if anyone but me will like it, but I'm putting it up here anyways. I plan on making some more weapons, starting with a Scottish Claymore and a Viking broadsword. I'm going to be making medieval weapons and I'm going to release them in packs of three or four over time. Expect at least the first pack done by the end of this week. Forgot to mention this, but if anyone is interested in giving this and any of my future weapons a better texture, feel freee to. Just PM me so I know about it. I plan on it. Hopefully I can get the Claymore done today. The models aren't really all that bad, its just the texturing that needs work. |

Ok, heres the wire frames to my saber. I have it seperated into three parts. I'm really not very good at UV mapping so I can't garuantee the wireframes are even workable, but there here anyways. Not bad. The saber is a pretty nice weapon. RANT My preference, of course, is the classic italian rapier. ![]() Best. Melee. Weapon. Ever. You could slaughter jedi with one of those things, so long as they weren't allowed to use force powers to steal it from you, throw you off a ledge, or whatnot. Also, Capt. Picard is a fencer. And so am I. /RANT |

I'll put up a .obj later today. I think I got an exporter for maya, but did you say you can export it to .obj format with UEd? I hope you'll have some free time to texture it.
Alright, I'll make a rapier some time, but that'll probably be in two packs from now. I plan on making a shield pack next, and I'm currently working on two weapons right now for my first pack, but I'm having some difficulties with the claymore. Also, take note: you won't be able to actually fence with it, I'm not making any new animations, just using existing ones. Ruex, if you can model, you can easily make weapons for JW. If you want you can send any models you make my way and I can put them in JW for you, if you model at all that is. |

ok.. try this: subtract a level.. a small room.. add your cutlass as a static mesh. now go to the file menu, and there is an export map option there.. use the drop-down list and choose .obj.. i'm not sure if thats right, bu u get the general idea

Yeah, I know that it's nigh on impossible to make fencing actualy work ingame. You'd need TONS of new animations. I wasn't really requesting that you do one. . .just commenting on my own blade preferences. |

Thanks UglyPants! And Carsomyr, I was already planning on making a rapier, but it was kind of low on my priorities since I'm not really too crazy about them myself, but since someone does want one, I will make it sooner. Ruex, this model I made only took about half an hour of work. Its not really hard, you just got to get used to the program you use. Thanks for the help, ShadowBlade. Ok, will do. Another thing, do you know how to make a new weapon swing info (Not exactly sure what its called, but its something like melee or swing info)? I went to UEd and found the Junk Objects, but when I tried creating a new one for my saber UEd crashed. I'll try and get the error message up soon. Maybe I did something wrong. I hope you can texture it, but its perfectly fine by me if you don't.
You guys have a lot of extra stuff for Junk Weapons that you didn't even use.
Can't wait to make some new weapons to use those extra things.

Yeah, MeleeFireInfo, thats what it wants. Just when I try to make a new one UEd crashes on me. Go right with optimizing the mesh and redoing the textures and mapping. Feel free with doing whatever you want with it. I'm just happy you can do it. Thanks!

Word of advice. If you're doing coding for Unreal DON'T use unrealEd. It's very unstable and unredictable. Just use it to export all scripts, then use wordpad to code. (I would recomend UDE) If you using awordpad or something, you'll have to fix up your editpackages, but I think you did that already, then just use 'UCC.exe make'. You also have to delete your old .u file if you want ucc to compile it. I used .bat files to compile it before I got UDE. Anyway, to summarize, forget about UnrealEd for coding, everyone who codes says that.

uhm.. yeah..
surely u can look in UDE and see how JW works.. its not soo hard, i managed to do many of the weapons
BTW, i sorta did some texturing, but u'll see
we can send u the new texture in .TGA, and the mesh in .ASE, for easy import into unrealed.. |

YES! All JW coding was done in UDE. Like SB said, take a look at JW's junkobjects in UDE, youll see how its done... |

Ok. I can't wait to see it. Thanks a lot for the help! How are you going to send it, anyways? Email? Whatever way that's easier for you is fine by me. But anyways, I tried modifying the melee info in UDE but I couldn't find it. All I see is the defualt property listing which one it is using. Am I just not looking in the right spot? I still don't really know UDE all the way, so I might just be making a stupid mistake... |

Its in the default properties. You'll notcie some big blocks in there. These are fireinfo objects within that junk object itself. Also there will be vars that point to those fireinfos. Maybe I'll take a shot and point a few things out. Or you could get some tutorials on unrealscript, although thats a long, dark road... |
