lucky you. Well it seems that even though i had 3 tests on the 13 for my first one (my history test) on world war 1, i got 96%. Pretty good. Now i just have to wait for Math and Global Issues. |

Congrats on that. I got a 9.0/10 in my maths test few weeks ago, the test was about reversed calculus and some equations relating to it. |

We quit school about 10 years ago... Bushman history was not too relevant... I left in grade 7 and SB grade 5... We've had to learn math, english and everything ourselves... I don't know why we did, but I am glad we did. Why would anyone who is free of school force themselves to learn? You guys are lucky is soo cold... Some days are so hot, my PC seizes and that makes work difficult... |

Whatever it is, it sounds horrible! It is useful to find out the surface-size of an irregular-shaped object. Surface-size has an English name that I can't remember at the moment.

I'm thinking the word you were looking for Bjossi is surface area, but close enough.
Ah... class... I'm usually just on my PDA browsing RuneStorm during class, but I'm the only one that seems to know the answers to the teachers' questions... gets pretty annoying.

![]() In my high school, a student will be unable to answer the teacher's questions in maths class, that's why they don't ask you anything. Just watch and learn.
To give you an example, would you know what to say if the teacher asked you what the integral of 2x + 0.25ln(3+x) is? |

I don't have a problem with not being able to answer questions here, the problem is that I just spent half an hour in chemistry class listening to the teacher repeatedly explain how to convert centimeters to meters... I can't understand how so many people have so hard of a time comprehending simple concepts... |

I learned that when I was 8 years old.
The metric system is so easy to learn & remember, people that have a hard time learning it are either idiots or Americans, or both. |

I know. I'm pretty sure half my class fall under the both category.
My only problem with the metric system is that I sometimes forget about deka- and nano- and all those other unused ones, but I still know them, I just have to think about some of them. Whoever heard of a picometer, anyways?

Sure its easy, but I just don't use it it much. I prefer the american system, much more accurate when it comes to tempatures and mechanical drawings. (but i still have no clue what the volume measurements are completely...)

Can you explain why it is more accurate? As far as I know, all measurement systems are equally accurate, you can use '.number' after all. |

Calciuis is way better than the F temperature reading. |

Yeah. The kelvin kind of confuses me. They got two measurements which are basically the same thing, only 273 degrees apart... oh well, guess for scientists measuring abosolute 0 might it be easier. As for the measurements being more accurate, for ferenheit, you got 180 degrees between freezing and boiling, so you don't need to go into decimals as soon, and if you have to go into decimals, you can't mark all of them on a measuring device, so you kind of have to do some guesswork. As for length, I just prefer to use inches to cm. Its quicker to read and its in a more practical size, at least for mechanical drafting. But perhaps this would be better to further discuss in a different thread. |
