This game was released in November 2001, and April 2006 I started playing it. It is a shame how long time has passed.

This game is extremely fun, of course the graphics are pretty outdated but the game sure looks much better than the average 2001 games like Red Faction.

What I like the best is the gameplay and the audio. The guns give a powerful sound, that is the main reason why I don´t want to stop using a gun that isn´t working on the tougher enemies. :P

This game isn´t only a WW2 shooter but a bit of science fiction at the same time, very interesting combo.

I courage anyone to try to find it in a discount bin if you haven´t played it already. :D

I doubt it, unfortunately. :(
What is your favorite gun? Mine is the silenced Sten, but I love the Mauser too.

Awsome game, my second real foray into the world of online gaming(first was StarCraft). My favorite weapon was the Paratrooper rifle. :) Still have the game, too bad no one plays online anymore, now they play EnemyTerritory .

Are you talking about the rifle you get in the airbase level? I can´t remember exactly.
I think my favorite level so far is the experimental airbase, simply because it kicks ass. :)

my favorite moment about that game was playing the beach map online. i would spawn with the minni gun and camp in the german base (where the OBJ was) waiting for people to come down. and when they would open the door i would blow them away :D

Is it even possible to lag in Quake 2 nowdays? :P
By the way, I'm currently in chapter 4 level 3, some kind of train station. And those paratroopers aren´t giving me an easy time. :S
But I love cooking them with the flamethrower.

Would love to see some of Wolfenstiens weapons in BW. A Tompson sub-machine gun, gattling gun, flamthrower, or even the silenced sten.:woohoo:

i cant see that stuff happening since BW is not a WW2 mod.

But these guns are still awesome and fit with ballistic gameplay. I wouldn´t worry about when these guns were used, rather how they look.

Then what about make them semi-realistic? They don´t have to be a direct copy of the old guns.

Like EM-Thompson, it shoots magnetic pulses instead of bullets and has infinite ammo, but is pretty weak.

look, you either take the gun or you dont. it makes no since at all to take a gun skin from WW2 and make it shoot plasma pulses or what ever.

Plasma pulses?
And of course it doesn´t make sense, just like you running with 20 weapons hanging on your back and double jumping. Is it important to you to have WW2 guns identical to their own image, but it is fine to change the modern ones?

a little change is fine, but making it shoot a very different type of projectile is a different story. moding a gun for more proficiency isnt the same thing...........

There're weapons. No one has said this is a modern day weapon mod only (of course I'm not speaking for the dev team), it is a mix of alien and modern day weapons, why not add nostalgic weapons as well, what harm would that be? I'm sure with the BW teams skill, they could do great things with all kinds of weapons.
;)

+1

At the end of the day, don't we all just want to play around with cool looking guns 'n' stuff? Who cares about realism or whatever. Personally I'd love to see some oldskool guns like the Thompson or a Mauser C96
http://website.lineone.net/~braithwaite ... mauser.htm Or simply a Glock 18c, as mentioned earlier...

A personal favorite of mine is the MP40, just how it sounds and how it looks.

How about a strong, in-accurate, long reload, tommy gun that could slaughter in close quarters?
