Ok complety random

Am I the only one who would like to see an RTS that rather then haveing to mine resorcese and buy troops the player would get insted get money and recruits every so offen depending on how well they do (say you had a large number of casulitys, it be doubtful you'd see men waiting in line to sign up or say you've been makeing great progress in you mission and you've captured some major citys of the opposeing powers you'd see the money rolling in)

That'd be pretty cool.

Yeah, probably right, but I figure there might as well be something like this for at least a little while, That way no one can say there isn't any where to talk about nothing in particular.

To discuss what Deux mentioned, creating a seperate topic about it was all that was needed to do. Plus it is easier to keep track on things that way, it's hard finding a particular discussion in a trans-dimensional universe of posts.

You're probably right, that would have been fine for a new thread, but he does know that some people are interested in it, which is partially what this thraed is for.

Sometimes you don't need a new thread to say something. For example, in many of the welcome threads, it was lead wildly off course, but would you really want to see new threads about some of that stuff? Its just some random stuff people say, and I figure spammy posts like those are inevitable, so we might as well try to keep it one more easily contolled area.

It would be rather confusing to try and find stuff in a thread like this, but if its something worth looking for, they might as well put up a new thread for it.

I'm not trying to question your authority or how this site is run, I just think that something like this is something that would not be worth creating a new section for and its not something to end the General forum, its something to (hopefully) save some threads from getting locked.

If you really think this is that bad of an idea, put an end to it now, I will understand and not object.

You are misunderstanding my point. Look around you, there are forums everywhere on the entire international network that have threads that go off topic. It is human behavior to be talkative. If you can't handle that fact, then don't create a thread, or do your best and keep it on topic yourself. I only step in if spamming or something else is on-going.

If you want to discuss this further, then drop me a PM or something. Maybe the RS guys want to give their 2 cents too, because this is a pretty controversial subject that obviously needs to be settled...

For the record: As far as these forums go...
A thread should stay ON-TOPIC WITHIN THAT THREAD...the "Off-Topic" area, i.e. "General" forum, is there so that a THREAD MAY BE STARTED ABOUT ANY TOPIC ... whereas in the other forums, the THREADS NEED TO BE RELEVANT TO THE FORUM.

We do allow some "wandering off-topic" within the threads in the GENERAL forum, but they shouldn't stray too-far.

It really doesn't get simplier than that!

i think, that if in this general forum, people are enjoying their wildly straying topics, then let them to it.. no harm done if they enjoy chatting about anything on OUR forums, then i'm happy with that

in other forums though, topics should at least stay on-topic
