I KNOW there's people out there who wanna talk about the features of some of their new toys lol...so post god dammit. Well, I didn't even want one of the next gen consoles yet...as in, I wanted one, but I wasn't dying for one. But, as it turned out, I got a PS3 and 5 games for it. Also, I got BF2 for the PC...didn't want 2142, seemed too futuristic for the way I like Anyhow...well, the PS3 does NOT suck compared to the others. Some 360 games may have prettier graphics and such, but what the hell? The PS3 is using Blu-ray technology. You can't expect these people to instantly make perfect games with stuff they've never worked with. The graphics are still equal in most games anyhow. That, and I've heard the 360, it buzzes and stuff a lot louder, and my buddy, who WAS a bigger fan of the 360 at one point, changed his mind after a few articles about the PS3 Anyhow, enough rant. The 5 games I got were NHL 2k7, Madden NFL 07, Call of Duty 3, Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII, and Resistance: Fall of Man. And I've gotta say...Resistance, is AWESOME. Me and my dad played it for a good while...just AWESOME. I won't even go into detail, there's just alot. Also, I'm a big reader lol, but I can't turn the light on to read at night because my brother's asleep, and we share the same room. So I got a nice little clip-on light...dunno, they just so cool lol. Well, I don't wanna take up everything. Go ahead people, give us the word. |

I didn't get a PS3 because I live in Europe, plus it is way too expensive, all my relatives have common sense so that was a no no. A 360 or Wii would have been pretty fun though. Anyways, one of my favorite presents is a CD. My first one since before 2001. It's an Icelandic band called Todmobile; they make very good rock music, I love the voice of the lead male singer, but the female lead singer ain't bad at all either. Next is a DVD, The Da Vinci Code, I haven't watched it yet, but we'll see in a few days. I got lots of candy, which is always good to have in arm's reach while hangin' out with my PC. That's about it I guess, I did get more stuff but I just named a few examples. darkonxy wrote: very nice haul

Where do you live? I'm curious if it is a culture thing, since here 15 year olds get a lot more gifts than 18 year olds like me. |

my guess is late next week. Isn't the beta testing group this time around, really small? |

I think this will be the group; me, UP, Xav, Wup, Redshift and James. Having it any bigger would kind of kill the purpose of beta testing. Better keep it small to not cause chaos. (Darkonxy, don't worry, I'm sure RS will give you a spot too) EDIT But let's keep this on topic. What did everyone else get for christmas that you'd like to brag about?

The South Park episodes are hilarious, I'd much rather want them than the movie. But pretty good, you finally got a great game known as Doom 3. Many people don't like the way the game is textured, but it is a run and gun shooter so...

You must be happy about getting the AoE 3 expansion. And nothing wrong with lego, I used to love that not long ago. |

Extremely happy about it. Can't wait to install it. Haven't had the time, what with shoveling snow, building Lego, and watching Rome and all. Well thats cool to know. Seems everyone has once played with Lego (if your a Guy) once in your life. I've just kept on it cause i find it totally awesome to build HUGE castles along with armies of little Lego men, then have them go into vicious Lego combat, heads roll, bodies split, and walls break. Ahh the humanity of it all. |

That's because Doom 3 engine was programmed for Windows, and a PC for that matter, there is nothing you can do except lower settings until it is playable. Of course you could hunt for special Doom 3 binaries made for Macs, could be useful for performance and compatibility improvements. |

Well start getting used to screaming 'I didn't mean to kill you, you fu*king ran right into my line of FIRE! Jackas*" alot, cause its FF on all day long. Oh and get used to wait 5 to 10 minutes for a map to fu*cking load, even on good systems, it takes forever. When i used to play BF2, i'd connect to a server and go watch TV for 10 minutes then come back and start playing, since it took a long time to load. Well The Movies, i heard got mixed reviews. Here's hoping you can pull off something good. FF= Friendly fire |

10 minutes to load a map, something is wrong if that is the case. Even Doom 3 & Quake 4 levels take 40 seconds at most to load for me. It all comes down to amount of memory, if caching is enabled, and hard drive spin speed & write/read performance. |

yeah, well BF2 is a system HOG. Even guys with 2 gigs had to wait 2 to 3 minutes for loading, from what i've heard and seen. |

I'm only waiting about 1-2 minutes to load maps on BF2 And my opinion on The movies is that its a good game but takes sometime to get used to. |
