I just recently downloaded DM-Coliseum. http://www.unrealplayground.com/maps.ph ... by=&show=c It's an awesome map in my opinion because it goes thru changes as you play, making it very chaotic. That mixed with BW/JW and BH. makes very cool game play and visuals. Add Zombies of Nightmare, and it also becomes insane http://ut2004.levels4you.com/downloads. ... derby=name You enter game play as if you are entering a Roman Coliseum to do battle, with the ZoN mod death maybe even be waiting for you there before reaching the combat area. I suggest you raise bot AI level to counteract the maps one problem of bots getting stuck, it won't stop it but cuts it to a minimum, adept or above. And if your Comp can hack it so to speak, using Slaughter 2004 mod is great also. http://files.vgpro.com/file/89 |

downloading map... That is insane, this is the only map I really fear coming up in the rotation. If you do get the DL, remember the map is made for a 5 minute round, you’ll see just play it |

I liked that map, it has very original gameplay to it. Have you tried some of his other maps? |

Heh, I remember when I first tried out coliseum a while back, I thought at first "Oh goodie, a maze map. I'll probably delete this one when I'm done..." Then, the whole damn thing goes and changes on me! It's quite the bit of fun, I must say... Anywho, I'm gonna go look for links to some other maps I like... |

Yeah that was a down side of that map. I guess it is a good one if you have a desire to be Godzilla, for those who may not get that reference, when I was a kid I'm not sure how many times I watched Tokyo be destroyed by a guy in a rubber lizard (Godzilla) suit while he was attacked by 1/24 scale model tanks. lol |

Yep I watched those "cutting" edge special effects when I was a kid in the sixties on a black and white tv. If you ever get a chance to watch one of those Japanese sci-fi flicks you'll then understand what a mind blower the first Star Wars was in 1977. Things most of you guys probably take for granted. |

Shitloads of work is needed to make good special FX, so I don't really take it for granted.

Hmm... I like maps that do a pseudo-geomodding technique, sorta like the ones for the Mars Wars TC... I just hope 2007 will have a fully-functional geomod technique (since Red Faction's geomod only crumbles rocks and concrete surfaces into huge slabs of... well... rock and concrete...). |

I'm sure many games in the year 2007 will have some sort of destruction done. But in the case of DM games, it won't do any good unless we are talking about limited destructibility. |

I know this is probably beating my own dead horse of a thread but here's another map I thought was cool and might recommend to others to try DM-JMC-LYCANS-LAIR-2k4 http://www.unrealplayground.com/maps.ph ... k4&type=dm {You'll have to join to down load} It's a corridor map, with no weapons or ammo pick ups, so you only have what you start with. Bots are kinda dumb so you have to hunt them, but they will fight you. Lots of adrenalin, full health, armor pickups, and exploding barrels. Lots of blind alleys, so playing with ZoN can add some excitement. So hope you check it out and have some fun while we all wait for 2.0 |
