ok i finally got around to basically finishing my ak47 model, i dont know how many hours went into this but it was more than 3 or so lol (i dunno it took a long *** time). the only thing its really missing may be some small details... umimportant stuff dunno.

well here it is....

model- AK47
Poly count- 815 (deleted most of the unnecessary ones)
time- bunch of hours!

@Bulska- i would love to but UED 2.5 isnt for mac.... and i cant texture... well i havnt learned to yet.
@Dark- yeah i agree, RS should have an AK.....
@Bjossi- yeah i agree with that, i'll probably try and make things smoother in certain parts.

wow EnteR that looks kinda neat =o , i like the new wood and main texture but the grip looks kinda weird now lol.

Nice work! I might round off the grip a bit though, looks a tad blocky.

It is an object very close to the trigger, it is very long and kind of resembles a slope.
If you have at least one functional eye you should be able to see it.

Called the trigger guard Bjossi. Or the back part of it at least. That hole line of steel around the trigger is the trigger guard. You rest your finger on that until you're going to shoot.

Nice job James. So are you going to give the model to SB for him to polish then add to BW? Because that would be kickass cool. Maybe add a grenade launcher and it'd be a contender with the M50.

if he wants it he can have it, im not exactly done with this tho im probably going to go over it and smooth out what ever needs fixing.

also it would help to know how many polys the RS team uses for an avereage assault rifle, but then again my model isnt exactly packed with detail like M50 is for example.

im not exactly trying to join the RS squad because my skills are still developing(no where near RS quality), it might also help if i had a real(as in professional) modeling program.

SRS900 has about 7000, M50 has about 7500.

At least, I think thats the polycounts.

Still, it looks awesome. If the AK-47 ends up good with SB and DC, you should really consider working on other guns (at your own pace and if you want to or not) for BW!

The stock and handle though is one thing to look at.

how about something like an XM8? or G36? both of those sound like good ones.

You'd be considered a demi-God (cause RS is are the Gods of modding) of guns by me. it'd be cool as hell.
