Me and my little brother are headed off to Colorado for the national Junior Olympics Fencing championships. Always fun to go off to somewhere new and stab people. Anyways, wish us luck. Seeya next week! |

Aim for the crotch! Also, it would be fun to use stun batons instead of fencing swords. Really got to try that sometime... |

Getting hit by a stun baton on the balls can't be fun.

Fencing is basically just taking a thin, sword thingy and poking it at someone else with a thin sword thingy. Their suits register the hits you get and when one person gets (I think) three hits in that person wins. Its a pretty cool sport, and if it wasn't so expensive I'd almost consider getting into it. Of course if I ever started fencing I'd probably pull out one of my sabers or machetes and get a little too into it.

w00t! Hotel WiFi FTW! Anyways, haven't fened yet, my brother did yesterday, and I'm doig it tomorrow. Should be around 250 competitors in my event. I'll be satisfied if I place in the top third. Oh, and I got to see my 30-year-pld sister yesterday who llives up near Denver, and just had her third kid yesterday afternoon. Pretty good timing on her part to have her the one weekend of the year when we're over here anyways. |

When you can't see in a tense situation, you go nuts. Sword + crazy person = be careful.

I think I can handle a crazy blind guy with a sword. Just back off until he gets tired of swinging around and then stick him in the throat. Anyways, my bro didn't do that great, placed somewhere in the top 70-80%. Thanks for the luck, everyone, I'll need it! Time for some sleep. . . |

Well, that doesn't sound too bad if you ask me. Good job Carsomyr's bro.
Well, I hope you end up on top of a pile of dead fencers! Or if that might disqualify you I hope you end up the victor of many a dual.
Get some sleep, you've earned it. |

What? Indiana Jones style? Anyways, no, he didn't do bad, especially since only the top 25% or so in the nation even get to compete here. . . .And I'm in the middle of competition. Oh, They just posted the results for the first round. Seeya! |

I'm watching Carsomyr fence right now. He's doing well and he's ahead 5-2 in a 15 touch Direct Elimination match. |

Yeah. . .No such luck. I lost that bout. I ended up placing around 90th out of 230. I'm not very happy about it, though. I usually place in the top 32, or even the top 16. But it was still fun, and I got to watch some amazing guys/girls compete. My head feels like a WW2 armored division just rolled through it during live-fire tests. Ouch. . . Anyways, event is now over and I'm home, this topic is declared obsolete. Thanks for everyone's support, it's much appreciated! |

Hey, you'd do a lot better than I would... I'd be that 231 if I was in it. (231 because I'd be a 231st person in it) |

Looks like you got 0wned hard & deep. Fortunately, it's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game.
