I am thinking of getting a 360 in a couple of weeks. What does everyone think of them?
OOOH when UT3 comes out, if I get it for 360, will I be able to use mods and custom maps?
Anyone?

Sure, why not? But I'm going to buy it for the PC because the PC version is cheaper, and I don't have to buy the 360. |

Nope, consoles are (for the time being, at least) utterly unmoddable -- so no BW 2K7 for j00! That's why I don't like 'em (well, one of the reasons, anyway).

We don't know for sure how moddable UT3 will be on consoles, but it is definitely not going to be as rich as the PC modding. |

Not as rich, not as free, and quite possibly not at all. Basically, consoles give a small group of corporate fatcats almost complete control over gaming, and that's definitely Not A Good Thing. |

I have a 360 of my own, and i damn well like it. Buy one, if you buy a PS3, God will kill a kitten. Why would u play UT3 on a console? The Unreal franchise is all about pinpoint accuracy, which consoles can never have, unless you have targeting help, but that just sucks. |

Sorry, my soul already belongs to GH2. And BW2.0. At the same time. But the only moddable version of UT3 other than PC is the PS3 version, and that's just a maybe. |

i wouldnt be getting a 360 for ut3 for sure... advice on getting the 360 though dont get the one that has ghost recon in the bundle most of those discs are defective and almost all of my customers have returned those |

Shrug. I'm not too fond of consoles. I'd rather save the money for PC upgrades. We have a Wii, though, that my lil bruddoe got for xmas. It's okay. Not great though, and there's a severe lack of good games for it. My personal preference would probably go to the X360. It might not be quite as good at the PS3, but at least you're supporting a US corporation, instead of Sony and Nintendo, both of which are Japanese. And the X360 has the best game selection fasr as I can tell. So if you're going to get a "next-gen" (that term makes me laugh) console, that's the one I'd recommend. |

'next-gen' is now. Well it was when the Wii and PS3 came out. Yep, i'm buying a new PC to play UT3, consoles can't compete with the precision of a mouse and keyboard. |

I think he meant "can't". I'm really looking forward to the day that console players and PC players can play the same games together online. The conlsolers will get completely and totally mutilated by even noobish PC players in FPS games. Consoles are better for 3rd-person shooters like GoW and Mortal Kombat-style games, and silly/weird stuff like mario party and super smash brothers, but PC's dominate FPS and RTS games. |

Meh, consoles just aren't as fun in general. For what you'd pay for an Xbox 360 you could make major awesome upgrades to your compy. |
