We will soon have a new secure payment method available.
I just want to get the feel from everyone out there what they think...
Now, before I go on, PLEASE REMEMBER that the RS team accepts payment for their WORK, NOT for the CODE.
Which means, you pay RS to do what you need/want done with regards to Ballistic Weapons. RuneStorm CAN NOT and DOES NOT accept payment for distributing the mod etc.
So, basicaly you pay for the RuneStorm team's time and effort to do what you would like to see in the mod. Think of it as "sponsoring" a weapon/feature for the rest of the community, because that is exactly what you are doing.
In case you are not clear:: Example: You pay RS to produce a weapon to YOUR specifications, looks, actions, feel etc. and make that weapon work with Ballistic Weapons. That weapon, once completed and to your satisfaction, will then be distributed to the rest of the world with the Ballistic Weapons mod. So you paid for the weapon/feature to look and work like you want, but everyone gets it free. The weapon/feature WILL be distributed, as it is against the license of UT not to, any modifications made must be released to the public.
Thus you pay for the time, work and effort, NOT the content !!
This is a way of supporting the developers, and ensuring they have funds for new equipment and software etc. to keep on developing this fantastic mod.
Having said that, we will be introducing a new payment method, with a secure and reputable company. Thus we will be able to accept the following methods: Online checks, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Dinners, JCB and Debit cards with the Visa and Mastercard logo.
We do realise that most of our fans are not yet at the "legal" age, and most don't have credit cards, but unfortunetly we don't have any other good, secure, reliable alternative as yet, due to the fact we are in South Africa and thus quite restricted to what we can do as far as receiving international payments.
On the other hand, it is maybe a good thing, as we wouldn't want to get a reputation of taking money from kids and teenagers!!
We are sure, for those who aren't able to directly pay us, that once your parents see that we are using a known, secure system, they might be more inclined to help you out
Please can I have your comments before we go ahead with this.....
But are you also going to accept MoneyGrams and direct bank transfers (i.e. SWIFT/BIC)? I know you mentioned additional fees @ your end, but how high are these exactly? I'm sticking with e-gold btw, but others might be interested...
