I found a mod called UTcomp that I like with BW. Actually, I just like it so much I use it with everything 'cause I think the features it adds should be standard... It's a whole bunch of little useful features geared toward competitive play, but I think they're great and I'm a softcore gamer. If you haven't tried it, I suggest you do. I dug up its page on BU fileworks here.Among What I can remember off the top of my head are delicious crosshair options, (optional) hitsounds that (optionally) change pitch depending on damage done, a little customisable hud display showing name, location, health, shield, and weapon (in vanilla UT at least) of teammates, and server options for forcing team colours, no team colours, bright skins, and even meshes- though only default meshes can be forced.
Forcing no team colours would make a BW game more immersive since friend-foe identification would be more realistic... I found some meshes on skincity based on Unreal 2 marines that I think fit nicely with BW, too. Get those here. |
