Note: This is probably the most off topic topic in this forum. Today... or should i say last night since its still May 11th when i posted this, i was in a... concert! :woohoo: +_+ i was playing the violin... i hope the mic didn't catch any of my off tune notes... and the most craptastic part of this concert was that i had to wear a 'proper' violinist's uniform and what not. i wanted to play the electric guitar but my mom made me play the violin. what a huge flipping difference. P.S. as i said. off topic topic. |

[/quote] Na, I think that's great. My kid is in his High School's brass band (marching), playing the trumpet. He drives me up the wall practicing at home, but it's well worth it to watch them perform in public (which they do quite often). They won the South Africian national championships last year, and they really are good. This year, there's close to 100 kids in the band...my sympathies to their teacher
But you have to admit, there's nothing quite like that feeling when you hear the applause from the audience
(Well I think there are a few things that come close to it, but you're too young for those )

if u don't know him you should do some research. Yes, we know him only too well. Where are you from (town/city)? We live in South Africa, so we have to put up with him far too much for my liking...but yes, he does do a lot of good. Post edited by: cyberax, at: 2006/05/12 07:34 |

Violin, huh? Nice. I been playing piano for 8 1/2 years. Have to say I love it. I got into it accidentally. My mom asked me, when I was but a young lad, "Do you wanna play piano?" And I wasn't paying attention and replied with, "Oh yeah, sure." But I love it. It's a pain because I gotta go out 30 minutes, 30-45 minute lesson, then 30 minutes back, sometimes more if we stop at store. But my teacher is so awesome. When I was younger, he once had to leave for somewhere else and we didn't know if he was gonna still be my teacher when he came back. I cried, seriously. He's Bulgarian, and sometimes, half my lesson is spent talking about stuff besides piano. I been stuck playing classical, but I have to say, it makes you like it when you play it for so long. My grandfather, who has guitars, mandolins, banjos, omg he's gotta have at least 6-7 guitars in all...he lent me one of his books. Old music, but any more modern music is better than nothing. It's great, all the benefits from piano. I once one a match of mercy against my best friend, who is extremely strong and tall, just through my grip. But, since this post is getting long, my last words are that I love piano, and I hope you like playing violin, too.
