Well

been doing some random stuff since 2.0..

i've been doing player skins.. been working in Q3.. the models are better ;) definetly improving my skills there..

DC's been at C++... lotsa stuff happenning there...

Of course a buncha games thrown in there..

And we'll be doing a patch quite soon.. some other random projects..

Unfortunately, I don't think they'll be able to make the RPG mod work with it.

I'd like to see a fix come for jailbreak, but don't be surprised if they don't get a fix for it soon, they have a slow connection and they might not be able to get it.

Why don't you just send them the System files of JailBreak so they can decide if they want to make a BW-compatible version of the mod?

Any chance of the gibbable bodies and or the multiply gibs added for the patch? Remember that the gibable bodies would only be Instant action and not even selectable in multiplayer... cause it causes a lot of crap.

Well DC said that making gibbable bodies net-worthy for BW is a pain in the ass, and he worked his butt off to try and do it. But he came up with the same idea i had thought up... except he thought of it a few days earlier.
This idea, which DC started working on late into the beta phase, is that gibbable would only be in Instant Action, and not multiplayer. He said something that if wanted to get it net-worthy he'd have to totally change the way UT2k4 works online, and that is going just a tad far. Though the good thing is that in UT3, gibbable bodies is built into the engine and online and stuff (shown in Gears of War), so DC won't need to worry about doing it than.

In short, its a TON of code and crap to shift through to get something that most people online may or may not even notice. Though Instant Action will work awesomely for it.



Hey SB and DC, are you guys doing anything else in the patch besides fixing bugs... like adding small features and stuff.

And when are you guys going hoping to start that simple weapons pack?

we had to learn how to do stuff before BW :P

anyway, the patch may have some features.. EG; i'm converting all firing sounds into 44khz quality ;)

maybe some others, but it'll be a small patch, covering some of the major problems, and hopefully a feature or 2 :)

soem random projects.. hmm.. i'm animating a small bug creature DC made.. perhaps i'll turn it into an Invasion thing :P i'm also started a bit of UScript..

and that simple weapon pack.. we'll get to it.. dont have dates, but hopefully soon :)

About the next patch, can you try to fix the alien and bot blood colors so thy don't look like glow stick stuff? It's been bothering me quite awhile that the perfectly green stumps shoot out neon blood.

Yeah, it was the whole point of them.

One thing i've noticed it that when robots are hit they release a massive amount of robot blue blood into the air (which disappears a second or two later), while the aliens and humans don't have as much fly out when shot. Be cool if they were more blood flying out, and or if at least the human blood was darker in the cloud when shot so you notice it more, since right now, its like the regular puff odd light red blood that shipped with the game.
