Does anyone know where a good non-steam counter-strike Source patch site is? I have a standalone version and I only found up to version 9 (Adds SAS and L33T). I'm looking for more so I can get GSG9 and Arctic as well. Any ideas? |

I haven't a clue, STEAM just Auto downloads them whenever it pleases. |

Exactly, Mine's isn't associated with Steam. I didn't use steam to buy it I got the game from a store. |

Well, if I was you I would convert to Steam (which you can do with a purchased box version). Yes, it is a pain sometimes, but it really does a good job. You can create yourself a free steam account, then you can register your bought version, by adding the cd key in your steam account, which then acknowledges you have bought the game and adds it to your steam account
BTW, there's a LOT of games available via steam these days and more and more comming all the time. |

I bought my version from a retail box if thats what your referring to. You need STEAM to play Source games. unless you hacked it? |

I find it totally awesome, only twice has STEAM disallowed me from joining servers, a simple log out then input name and password and blame, all is fixed. The other thing i did find annoying for a bit was when i was entering the key code for Day of Defeat Source, there was a 1 that looked like a lower case l, so i struggled with it for 15 minutes, then got it working. I love STEAM, though i'd never buy a game online from them, i prefer a hard copy. |

Are you sure? I ordered Half life 2 over Steam but I dont need to run Steam first in order to play it. Half life can find the Steam files by itself. You do need Steam to play over the net however. |

Well from what i know, you need STEAM account to play them, which is then you need to be connected to the internet, which makes this whole thread pointless because STEAM auto patches itself and any games you have, you can't have a game like Half life 2 and not have STEAM. |

Well, actually you can, BUT then I doubt you can play online, and you're not gonna get much in the way of updates and patches....

I just want to be able to play SAS, GSG9, GIGN, Arctic, Gureilla (sp?), and L33T, not just Phoenix and SEAL. |

Well i haven't an answer. Do you have dail up and if yes, is that the reason why your not running STEAM but still somehow able to play? |
