Looks like Jack Thompson, the well known anti-gaming wacko, has threatened to battle Microsoft if they don't change the sales methods of Halo 3. http://www.gamealmighty.com/story-indiv ... on_Halo_3/ From my point of view, how the bloody hell have Microsoft anything to do with dickheads in the shops that sell underage people games that are rated M? Jack is targetting the wrong suspect once again. Good thing he ain't gonna win, Microsoft has enough money to counter-sue him to hell. It's just stupid to even try. |

Wow, hes still at it? I thought EA wiped the floor with him. Microsoft are distributing the game, thats why he is going to them. Still it is highly unlikely that Microsoft will be swayed by his actions. Microsoft wants their money and a law suit over ERSB ratings is not going to stop them. One can only emagine the kind of laywers Bill can summon fron the depths of hell with a budget like his. There is some merit in Jacks fight, I dont think kids should be exposed to R18 games either. But I concur that he is barking up the wrong tree. He really should be delivering his point to parents since the exposure of game violence to kids is entirely their responcibility, not Microsofts. But grab your popcorn and deckchair anyway, Jacks seems pretty determined on this one. |

Jack has been active this year, and has been very beneficial too. He for example is legally banned from even speaking with anyone that works for Take Two, who distributed games like Serious Sam 2 I believe. I agree with Yokelassence, let's sit down with some popcorn and watch Jack get pwned in court. . .again. |

You know, if Take Two can outlaw him from talking to their employees, imagine what Microsoft could do. Probably Sue him for his soul and all his money, use part of the soul and put it on special edition Halo 3 CDs, then outlaw him from even making eye contact from Microsoft employees. |

Eergh... Jack Thompson... That dick has been at it since the dawn of the Columbine incident (just because some lamer kid cited DooM2 as his outlet for violence)... I mean, JUST LOOK at this guy's streak: Hot Coffee, losing to Scott Ramsoomair, Tycho Brahne and Adam Sessler (though this is highly debatable since Adam's also a dick), and then getting his ass handed to him by EA... The day Jack wins a lawsuit against the Gaming Industry will be the day everybody gets castrated. EDIT: Oh, and I just find it funny how Jack goes after Microsoft's rather tame Halo 3 than Epic's GORE-FEST of an FPS game GEARS OF WAR. |

Actually it was a judge with common sense that shut Jack up. Take Two sued, Jack counter-sued, judge agree with Take Two; bingo. This is gonna happen again if the US law system works, which it doesn't, so it's a 50/50 chance I'd say. |

If GOW is a gore fest then Jack should truly be more concerned about Unreal Tournament 3. Have you seen the most recent image of a UT3 headshot? Nasty! He doesnt seem to be aware of any of epics work however. Of course there is far worse out there. |

Ahh, Good ol' Jack Thompson is at it again. He sues EA fr putting "Nude" models in the Sims 2, filed a lawsuit against Midway for allowing users to create him on Kreate-A-Fighter, and now this. I mean, SERIOUSLY! If you're so pissed at M games, Jack, go to Iraq and you'll see that there's things out there worse than game violence! If he attacks Tekken 6 for violence, I'll give him the Honorary Delusional Freak Award. |

Attacking Tekken 6 for violence is like putting on the front page of a newspaper 'Fast food may make you fat'. In other words, who the hell does NOT know Tekken 6 is violent? Either you buy it or you don't. Jack has no right to decide what is allowed to be bought or not, it is up to the parents and the way they want to raise their kids. Or if you are old enough, then just buy the games you want to. Jack is only doing harm to himself and his rep, the gaming industry hasn't taken the least damage by his actions. |

Thats a bit harsh DK, I would say his first mistake was jumping into agressive legal combat before anyone truly understood his motives. It earned him all but resentment from an entire world population. A more subtle start with a smaller target would have been wise |
