I got Gameshark 2 to hack so I can buy all cars for free, and the first car I bought is this:
[br]

Then I got the Max Days cheat and got Sarthe, put this on the course, and cleaned up at the winner's circle. Seriously, for some reason, once I saw this Pescarolo, I fell in love with it.

Bring it on, OC! I can beat you any day!

*gulp* Shouldn't have said that.

Anyways post pics of your favorite cars so others can drool at them :D.

Gran Turismo 4. Does anyone know if the Gt40 LM Racecar (in the opening) is in a showroom? If it is, where is it?

Wait... you still play GT4? I left that series after day 1 of playing Forza!! Anyways, you shoulda posted a time for me to beat! I can still pop out my GH2 to try at a time though... what should I use.... Hmm.... pull out my R8, or go at the full all out Escudo... Hmm, I know it'd be too easy with the Formula Gran Turismo though.

Anyways, the 2002 Ford GT LM racecar must be won. Look it up online to find where, I don't remember, all I know is that I have one. From like.... 3 years ago.

---
About that pic, obviously that's not in-game. You see the orange Aston Martin DBR9? Yeah... that wasn't in GT4. But that red R8 was!

So, I'll fire up the old and crusty GT4 for this thing. You know the physics simulation only runs at 60FPS, right? Pretty bad.... Actually, that's just horrible.

---

Okay, started it up again, and I must say, my left arm hurts... that damn force feedback is horridly overdone. Yes, I use a steering wheel for my PS2. ANyways, here's my times for the two cars I decided on driving.

Pescarolo C60 '04
Lap 2- 3:24.251

Mazda 787B '91
Lap 3- 3:21.886

No where near the best I can do, but I feel as if that's good enough for now. I'll go back after I do some stuff I've got to do today. Also, I really hate the gearing they do on the stock versions of the cars. I can barely even try to use 1st in circuit at all!! Only on what... the last chicane? And not even there if I wanna actually go fast!

Which is why I prefer my 360 with FM1 and FM2 (Forza Motorsport). I'll take 240FPS and 360FPS on physics, please! Stupid 60 for GT4...

You, don't blame Sony, I play GT4 cuz I don't have a X360... I still want Forza 2 So FRIGGIN BAD!

Anyways... Which brand is the R8? it may be just me, but I can't find it in the game.

I forgot what I got for the Pescarolo, and what do you mean by physics simulation?

Author:  OCAdam [ Tue Jun 19, 2007 3:21 pm ]
Post subject:  Cars + Hardcore Racing = AWESOME

Err.... I didn't blame Sony, I just blamed Polyphony Digital for going all out on graphics and not the actualy physics simulation, which is the most important part of a racing simulator (or driving). It's what the cars will follow for their actions and reactions that they encounter and perform.

Audi R8. You can buy one I believe for 4.5 million (without cheating that is). They're fast! They won 6 Le Mans races, and almost 7 (and in a row BTW), but their driver for one year went to another team and won for them (Bentley Speed 8, 2003).

Yeah. That's what you call a real life picture. Real life, I find, tends to have the best graphics.

I like both GT 4 and Forza Motorsports. But, GT 4 does get a bit more of a nod for me- it has the Circuit De La Sarthe and Several Group C cars. I wouldn't mind seeing more Group C/ IMSA GTP cars, though.
Of course, I would really like to see either one of the games have the Porsche 917- be it the Le Mans car, or the 1500 horsepower Can Am racer that went to Talladega Superspeedway in '75 and set a closed circuit speed record that stood until '86.

Yeah.... but as soon as FM2 gets the Top Gear track (if it does), it'll automatically make it one of the best racers I've ever played (and it's already there really, but that would only further raise my love of it). To beat the Stig's times would be hellishly cool.

Now they have the R10, and their streak is continuing. Personally, I'd rather have seen the Peugot win this past weekend, as I find the closed top prototypes to be so much better looking. Well, at least in '10, we're almost guaranteed that a closed top prototype will win. But hey, I love the race.

I'm not a really hardcore driver, but I like racing, so I was wondering, what event is the Infineon Raceway for? And Sarthe is the Le Mans track, right?

Infeneon aceway (or Sears Point) is a track that is used for the SCCA, NASCAR Nextel Cup, NHRA, and some other stuff. Circuit de la Sarthe is the Le Mans track, consisting of some publics roads and part of the Bugatti Circuit.

I played only one lap for one Car, the Playstation Pescarolo C60 (591 HP) Using Medium Racing Tires for better grip. This is the record:

Playstation Pescarolo C60 (Year?)
Lap 1 - 3'21.515 (No Chicanes)
Lap 1 - 3'46.534 (Chicanes)

I used a PS2 Controller (my steering wheel isn't the best), but I'm a horrible driver, got 5 slips and 1 crash :P.

Stick around, thinking about what car I'm gonna use tonight... Maybe the Esparante.

60 FPS? That's a miracle for my computer :P. But I do agree, the physics in GT4 are too rigid. Even worse than the physics I found on NASCAR 2001. I wish the car manufacturers would just let GT4 make car damage. It'll at least mask the horror of the physics.

with a pretty suped up Toyota GT One, on the version with the chicanes, I was able to put down a 3:14.676- and that's with thoroughly bollocking the entrance to the Porsche curves.

I am issuing a challenge to OC and some other racers. ( I can't do it, I suck at racing)

Use a racecar in GT4 that is around 900 HP (i.e. Gillet Car thingy). Fire up Sarthe 1 or 2 for a 50 lap race, with 0 difficulty (cars of about your same skill). Tell me your best lap and ending position.

Oh come on, you expect me to get that time when I actually don't use any upgrades and actually drive the course!?

Oh and that enduro thingy, I'll do the ultimate test on it. Formula Gran Turismo race on Sarthe for those 50 laps. That'll be hell.... that is, if I decide on doing it! I like my Enzo I got in Forza 2.... I get it to go 70 in 1st gear with no tuning and reach 60 in just 2.4 seconds!!

I could take the turbo off, but I'm still not back to being used to the physics- I freakin' hate the PS2 controller on the run down to Indianapolis.

^ lol....

I got a Logitech Driving Force wheel (not the Pro), so my arm hurts from the feedback it gets from GT4.... it's way overdone.

Hm... just did it with the Pescarolo, and it wasn't trying to kill me. Bone stock, right out of the dealership, no tuning, and I'm still hitting over 220 before the first chicane. Laid down a 3:23.097.

make that time a 3:19.195.... i had a pretty good lap :D

Post subject:  Cars + Hardcore Racing = AWESOME

Dang, son, that is a mean lap time. If only my vision was sharp enough to see all the turns :P.

By the way, last night I did a 12-lap race on Infineon Stock Car Course (The one for Nascar). I also raced 25 on Sarthe 1. I won on the Infineon, but I lost control on Sarthe so I got 4th place before the final stretch. :(

And about my steering wheel, it's a Skream Steering Wheel McLaren thing (the box has a picture of Coulthard or Hakkinen driving the McLaren F1 Racecar), and it can be used for XBOX, PS2, Gamecube, or PC.

I'll go beat that as soon as I can get myself to stop playing UT2004RPG and GTA:SA. That should be pretty soon.

By the way, that 3:19, was with the tiresthat came on it. Stuck some supersofts on it and adjusted the wings and suspension, and I've beaten the lap I laid down with the GT One. That's without upgrading the engine.

Yea, I bet OC knows SS, S, M, H, and SH tires.

So softer tires give you better grip, warm up easily, but wear down quickly....

And harder tires last longer at the loss of grip and longer time or inability to warm up, right?
