http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1618/HAZE/p1/ While the game kinda looks good, remember when people said that Killzone would be a halo killer? Well look where killzone is now, in the bargain bin at walmart and I'm willing to bet that Killzone 2 will end up the same way since there claiming to be a halo 3 killer. Although this game may give halo 3 a run for its money will it completely change the mind of the halo fan base and become the end of the halo? DISCUSS!

Yea the halo franchise has enough momentum to push through pretty much any game in its way |

True. But you see, Halo is on the xbox, and Unreal is on the PC. See the difference. |

Honestly, I don't think "halo-killer" games exist. That's the same kind of silliness as calling a book a "harry potter" killer. I mean, look at gears of war. Amazing game, sold amazingly well, surpassed all expectations. But even though it's basically hands=-down the best shooter on the x360, you can't honestly call it a halo-killer. It might be better than halo, it might be more popular than halo (I don't know for sure if it is. Kinda doubt it), but it didn't "kill" halo, and I really doubt if anything can or will. As much as I might wish something would. |

Unreal hardly gave Halo a scratch. At the LAN parties I go to; Halo 2 is still the number one Xbox game and Halo:PC is the number one PC game played there, even when UC2 and UT2004 is more than available. Although for the lanners with 360's Gears of War is making a foothold in the parties. If UT3 has better LAN support (lets us install a multiplayer only spawn version like what starcraft did) then it will certainly kill Halo and Halo 2. Halo 3 on the other hand, has plenty of hype to keep it going. |

HYPE... the key-word... I never really knew why Halo was so famous in the first place... it's typical FPS fanfare... It's a faceless dude who singlehandedly destroyed an entire alien race... Been there, done that... PLUS, MC's a real pussy if you ask me (I mean, c'mon, ONLY TWO WEAPONS AT ONCE!? No Hammerspace = fail). Can anyone answer me this simple question? |

He's the most advanced piece of technology available even to the covenant and I don't play halo for the thrill of being Master chief I play halo for the intense action and deep storyline that leaves so much to be filled in by the gamers once I played halo other FPS's didn't feel the same for some reason. |

Would Oblivion be considered an FPS? It has the best storylines I have ever seen, but then again, it might be considered RPG. Action's pretty good too. |

Fixed. Halo is a huge fanbase, Epic and iD would need to team up to even stand a chance. . . |

If you play the game to shoot things...nah nothing special If you play the game to live the story of a character, then its something else. The legend behind the series is what makes it different. Try playing Halo like you play Half-Life: to be the character. I found it is quite the story. |

Then my point still stands. Halo only has a good SP experience. It doesn't have a good MP. All you can get from it is Master Chief with different color swaps and a bunch of tea-baggers. I lol. |

Halo 2 is probably my favourite multiplayer game of all time, at least if you're talking 4+ players. While I love BW, it just isn't something one can play at large LAN parties. Halo 2 is nice because it's on console and therefore much simpler to get started and such, and you only need one console/tv/game per four players. Makes things a hell of a lot simpler. If you get about 8 or more people playing, that game is truly something else, at least if you are playing a LAN game, with everyone within screaming distance.
(I love hearing the other teams scream "XAVIOUS!" in a mixture of fury and horror. )
SP is great, but I play it for it's MP. I use to absolutely hate Halo 1 & 2, but after having a Halo party with 7 people, it has become my absolute favourite game ever for MP. I admit, I do think Halo 2 was really over-hyped, but it still is really great. I guess it just depends on your preferences, but please, play in a 16 man Halo 2 game sometime for a good 4-5 hours with a fairly open mind, then tell me Halo 2 sucks. As for just various coloured MCs, you must've forgot about the Elites too. but that brings the model count up to 2, still not much difference. But that really isn't the point. I could care less about the model selection, if the game play is good, I couldn't give a shit about the graphics. |

Couldnt agree more Xavious, Halo's durability in LAN games is definetly its strongest point. For a poor MP experience I sure had alot of fun. And I liked having customiseable armour, why would we need different skins when you can personalise your own chief? But anyway im sure that Gears of War is soon to steal that "most popular Lan game title" |

GoW might have enough power to shove halo to the side for a bit but when halo 3 comes out will Gears be able to continue to fight? Well we will just have to see gaming has always been full of surprises |
