Take a look at the pic. The top one might be believable. My old computer had a Radeon 9800 AGP card, which rendered the menus at 200 FPS. I'd imagine that my dual GeForce 7900 could, maybe, bump it up that high, but the average is always haning around 13. The bottom one is definitely strange. No way my computer could render 4 billion frames per second. Anyone else ever get wierd FPS readings like this. This must be a hardware issue. I installed the same OS on my new computer as on my old computer which seemed to handle the fps display fine (Win XP 32 bit). If you never tried it, the console command is "stat fps". This doesn't really affect the gameplay; my only gripe is that I can't brag to my bro about my fps in certain maps. Oh well, that's what UMark and Aquamark are for. We seem to have a little unofficial contest going. Teaches him to go with Opteron.[br] |

I bet Bjossi would know the answer to this. |

I actually don't. But it's quite obvious that 4 billion frames per second is bullshit, something funky going on with the game. I doubt the hardware has anything to do with it. Try use Fraps for framerate monitoring, and see if it disagrees with the numbers generated by the game itself. |

I take back what I said about uMark. Something is wrong with that, too. The average and max FPS look like they are in the ball park knowing how my old computer scored, but the total score is way off. I bet reinstalling UT would fix it, but it takes so long to install all the custom maps, mods, skins, voice packs, etc, even with MI.[br] |

You know, reinstalling UT won't remove any custom maps or mods or anything like that. It just re-installs the stock UT content. Unless you're talking about completely deleting your UT folder and then installing it again, which really won't be necessary. Any problems are most likely found in one of the .ini files in your System folder. |

Yeah, the frame reates look about right, but the score is way off for some reason. My old computer with a piddly P4 and Radeon 9800 got a score of 55-ish. Given that my new computer's aquamark score is 2.5X that of my old computer, the score definately shouldn't be in the single digits. I'll have to try reinstalling, then, since the mods will be preserved. I think that Map Mixer will even add the "ServerPackages=..." lines for me when I host a game that uses the mods. Oh, how I love that "mod", let me coun the ways: 1... 2... 3... ...infinity |

What exactly does the score number in UMark mean? Don't you think one needs to know that before you start thinking a single digit number is bad? |
