Alright, so I'm thinking of getting a Ipod video soon, but the only thing is, i haven't a clue how you would get regualr format video (like QuickTime or WMV) so it plays on the Ipod, because they need to be converted into a special format for the Ipod Video.

I've tried Total Video Converter, it works, but it leaves a bunch of text on the top left hand corner. Which i don't want.

So is there any software (thats free) or program (thats free) that can convert a wide range of video formates into other video formates including this Ipod Video format.

Reason I'm asking this is because when I get my Ipod Video, I'd put all 5 season of Red Vs Blue on it, to watch them or listen to them where ever I am.

There are a lot of convertors, but most are shareware/commercial. It will take some "testing" to find the one you like.

BTW, you can also allocate some of it to use as a normal "flash/memory disc/stick" . very useful if you get portable versions of your favourite apps :)

What format is QuickTime?
Anyways, for converting you could try IrfanView, though I have never tried it's video format support.

It is an Apple format.

Apple use their own format for everything? Stupid move.

And UP, try out VirtualDub. It only supports AVIs at first but I think you can download plugins for it. That program is a great video compressor.

You can? I bet you can't do it as quickly as a processor though.

Well. it's so simple, I use Vegas 7 and open the file (Vegas 7 can open alot of different files, and save too) and then save it as a different file type.
