Yep, this day certainly classifies as awesome in my books. 8)

First off, we picked up my motorcycle today, an old, beat up 1982 Honda Twinstar (200cc) for $500. A little more than I wanted to pay, but it runs great. (I LOVE IT! !heart :d )

Then, we spent a couple hours rafting down the nearby river. Was pretty awesome.

Still am so happy about my new bike! :D

Can't wait to take it out some more tomorrow.

At this current state I know next to nothing about riding a motorcycle, but my dad has been driving them a while now, he's showing me the ropes to it.

My dad actually wanted me to get a motorcycle! :D

Well, halfway. He wanted me to have one, but is naturally worried as a parent. He's wrecked his bike once hitting a deer and his dad nearly died in a motorcycle wreck, so he has a bit of knowledge on the subject.

I'll see if I can get some pictures up in a few hours, if my mom ever gets the pics of her camera. :p

Since I brought up my dad's motorcycle, I feel like I should mention some more about it, since its pretty damn awesome.

First off, it is a 20 year old bike, but is currently one of the fastest stock bikes in existence (stock, it can go up to 190 mph (~305.75 kph), assuming you can hang on to it at that speeds :P ). Its a 1983 Honda V65 Magna.

The funny thing is, Harley Davidson released a bike a few yeas ago, I believe the V-Rod, that claims to be totally unique and innovative, but in reality its something thats almost as fast as the V65 (on a much lighter frame at that), and even has styling similar to the V65.

ARE YOU SERIOUS!? A ****ING KIA!? That is beyond slow! Get behind the wheel of a tuned Nissan Silvia K's S13 with 278HP and then you can say too much power! Of course that was MY Silvia before I wrecked it one icy day.... I loved racing that thing around a ton though...

i'll have something one day..

Awesome! See how fast it goes with only one wheel on the ground!

Oh, sorry about the KIA man... Things like that are always holding me up on the road...

And as for the bike vs car decision... WHAT DECISION!? BIKE, BIKE, BIKE!!!
Its the only vehicle thats light on fuel and doesn't look retarted! No traffic jams, you can punch peaople without having to wind down a window and nobod will ask for a lift, plus all the places you thought you can't drive, suddenly look like roads, e.g. the sidewalk!

Disclaimer: I am not encouraging wreckless road use, if that is the way you perceive my statements, then that is your own fault...

Err.... where would the extra person sit in my Silvia when I had it? I actually had mine only have the driver's seat!!! Roll cage+racing interior MEANT for street racing = awesome

They'd probably still ask for a lift cos it looks like a car...
Your car sounds like it was cool! Did th cops impound it? They are always so jealous, thats why they have it in for everyone...

Thanks guys!

Yeah, I don't like driving cars much, I just don't feel like I'm in enough control or something. So I got me a bike. Unfortunately I won't be able to ride it year 'round over here due to the snowy winters, but it'll still be fun 3/4 of the year. :D

I can tell you like motorcycles a bit, DC. :P

I think I'm gonna hold off on testing its speed on one wheel till I get a bit better at it. ;)

My dad did a bit of research and found that this model is actually quite a collector's item, which is pretty cool. Its pretty rare and was only made for I think 5 years. My particular bike was the 107th one off the assembly line.

Anyways, I finally got some pics of it up.

Is that you on the bike? You look awesome on it. Maybe the front needs a little repair, but it's cool overall.

Yeah, thats me, thanks. :)

And yep, it needs some work on it, its kinda beat up.

Mirrors and handle bars need replacing, and I wanna get a new headlight for it too, among a few other things.

...And now my odometer reads 23.6 miles. :p

Drove it around in a field in front of my house all day today. :d

No cop impounded my S13, I totaled it when driving up Pikes Peak when it was icy... damn bear in the road! I hit a tree. That was... about a year ago actually.

You oughta try it out some time. They're great fun, even if you are just riding it around all day in a hay field. :P

Anyways, I'm just about ready to take this on the road, drove around 60 miles today in that field. :D

Only thing thats really stopping me (other than a license ;) ) is that I really need to do something about the carb...

I was busy messing with the choke to try and get it running again, as it was starting to sputter out. Unfortunately, I wasn't looking up often enough and my leg caught a bail of hay at about 30 mph.

Somehow I landed in front of the bike...

First thing I did was shut off the bike, then I just laid there trying to figure out what exactly happened and what damage was done.

After a few seconds I got back up and checked my bike out, discovering that no real damage was done, so then I jumped back on and was about to keep riding, but it was starting to get dark, and I figured now was as good a time as any to call it a night.

In the end my knee got a cut and hurts a bit like hell, but my bikes ok! :D

Yep, but I did all my stuff illegally, mountains. And for the cool factor.... I think it goes off the charts! Of course you obviously don't go but maybe 90 tops, unless you seriously had a CAR... and I've only raced against 2 of those. Mazda RX-7 FD3S and Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 (or GTO VR-4 if you prefer). Still looking for a new car... hard to find a good one from all the millions of lemons!

Awesome. though, personally, I like dirt bikes better than road bikes. Put another 30 odd miles on my honda XR250 this weekend.

Congrats, though. She's pretty. Hope you two have loads of fun.
