Hmm... I've had trouble installing U4E too, I think I had a new version and the Umod version.

First off, I think it has a new folder that some of the stuff goes to called I think U4E, and then a bunch of other stuff goes into the normal folders.

Did you install it properly? Could be kinda hard for that one, I had a heck of a time installing it myself.

Well, there should be some files already in the U4E folder, and those just go in your UT2004 folder. All of it should be set up so you just need to extract the .zip to your UT2004 folder and all should be in their proper places.

Also, you said set the paths in your UT2004 ini? Thats the part that I kept forgetting to do. :p

For confirmation, do you have all of these lines in your [core.system] section of the UT2004.ini?

Paths=../System/*.u
Paths=../Maps/*.ut2
Paths=../Textures/*.utx
Paths=../Sounds/*.uax
Paths=../Music/*.umx
Paths=../StaticMeshes/*.usx
Paths=../Animations/*.ukx
Paths=../Saves/*.uvx
Paths=../u4e/*.u
Paths=../u4e/*.ut2
Paths=../u4e/*.utx
Paths=../u4e/*.uax
Paths=../u4e/*.umx
Paths=../u4e/*.usx
Paths=../u4e/*.ukx
Paths=../u4e/*.uvx

And you put the files in the right place? If you did that it should work... but if not, this might be pretty bad.

Probably not due to the file names...

Oh and Trunk, don't get the absolute new version, it won't work because you need an older patch.

Kinda. They got a bunch of stuff put into the default locations, but then everything else is lumped together in the U4E folder if I remember correctly.

The file names do indicate that all the files go the same folder, according to that INI file I quoted from Xav.

Anyway, is this mod any good? Where is the quality level in terms of visuals and audio?

It's ok, the newer version (V5 beta) sucks because you need the older patch...

I like the Compound bow

It's a pretty good mod In My Opinion.
It's not nearly as active,balanced, or Visually Appealing as BW, but it's fun just to mess around with it's silly weapons and monsters.
I'd say on a scale from 1-10 it's an 8.0 as far as visuals and audio go and a 9.8 for Creativity.For example the Doll Bomb, which is a little nuclear bomb disguised as a wind up doll,calls Moma,grabs on to someone and lets out a massive explosion with great effects.It also has a Ant-Gravity gun,a Python Revolver,A Railgun,A BFG,QSG,A Phasor,a Motorized Handheld Propeller,A Worm Whole Generator,Sticky Grenade,Flying Grenade,Hive Grenade,Shrapnel Grenade,Gas Grenade,A Chainsaw/Grappling Gun,A Tele-Porting Katana,ect.
And has a great Invasion-Like Game Type with a bunch of custom monsters.
If you ever get a chance, I'd recommend trying it.
