You've been touching the monitor too much in that area, or a magnet has been there by accident. That's what happened to my TV. |

If two other monitors show the same problem, then it is either an unbelievable coincidence or the problem is caused by something else. Magnets, video card and video drivers come to mind. |

I made sure no magnets were any where near the monitor or computer and it still did it. Right now its not. Maybe it was just a little one time thing but i cant be sure. |

Did all monitors experiencing this same problem have a De-Gausser active? |

Basically, the only thing I'm getting at is, are you absolutely sure that nothing magnetic is near your screen (including speakers, sub woofer, etc)? Just for fun, did you try using your monitors after placing them in a different location? Anyways, "DeGausser" the fancy term for a feature of most monitors these days, which enables the monitor to counter-act the effects of nearby magnets (Only for CRT monitors, not plasma or LCD). If there is a magnet near the monitor, then the color is changed, or biased toward a certain color. If my recollection of physics is accurate, this is caused by the magnetic field bending the electrons, which are shot out of an electron gun. If you look around in your monitor settings (using the physical buttons/knobs on your monitor, not the software on your computer), you might find a DeGauss setting, enabling you to turn it on or off. On my monitor, it is under "Special". If your monitor does have a deGausser enabled and you're feeling experimental and adventurous, grab a magnet or a sub woofer and move it around, near your screen. You will see a pattern of colors near the magnet. When you move the magnet away, the effect stays, to a lesser degree, but should go away when you turn the monitor off, then on again, or manually activate the deGausser. Do not try this if you are not sure you have a deGausser and know that it works properly. You will hate my guts forever if you mess up your screen. If I may try my hand at an analogy for what is going on, imagine a flat rubber sheet, which is divided into an array that represents the pixels on your screen. Each cell of this array is a single color at any time, which is controlled by making little bumps or craters in this rubber sheet. When you move a magnet nearby, you are pushing down or pulling up on a large area of this array, such that everything near this disturbance (magnet in this case) is offset. Oh, and I decided to play around, since I got on this track. If you don't feel safe playing with magnets near your screen (or have plasma or LCD), take a look at this pic.
