well well...
I haven't been there for a while, but boy was I happy when I opened steam this morning!

ALL id software games have been released on Steam!!
The only exception is Quake 4, but all the others from Commander Keen, through Wolfenstein3D, the dooms, the quakes, the heretics, hexens is all there!

WoW !amazed

I think that is a very interesting move from id software....

Considering valve is releasing the orange box later this year to all platforms and Quake 4 is on PC and XBox360, I'm sure we'll see that on Steam later this year as well...

Wow, I will consider buying the old classics like the Heretic games.

I don't see Portals of Prævus (Hexen 2 expansion) there though. Maybe I'm just overlooking it.

You can buy every Id game for 60$ or somewhere around there. I wonder what game company is going to jump aboard steam next. Maybe Rockstar?

$60 is good price and all, but I bet many people would be buying many of the games again.

For example I already have the following:
Hexen 2, Quake, Quake SoA, Quake DoE, Quake 2, Quake 2 GZ, Quake 2 TR, Quake 3, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein 3D.

Yea good point. But think of this what if for some reason you lose all your game data and Cd's and cant reinstall them? With steam there always on your account and can be installed any time meaning you will never lose or not be able to play those games.

Yeah, I'm gonna buy that whole pack as soon as I can put the money together...well worth it!

There are some missing, it seems there are license issue with some of the games and expansions. Browsing the steam forums, there is quite a bit of talk about the missing ones and a news quote of the id guys about the missing ones due to license issues. It seems some of the stuff was done by other people and now they can't get it on steam...I hope they can eventualy get all of them on steam, that would be fantastic.

Really, wow. Well i doubt they will go to PC, they don't really have as big a fallowing on the PC as they do on the consoles.
